    Manuka Trip

I've never been down to Manuka , but I intend to go for the game next month.
I've decided that I'm going to take the'plane on Saturday morning but I'd like some advice on two things please :

1.What's the best way to get match tickets ?

2.Where is a decent no-frills place to stay that's within easy reach - no more than a ten-minute taxi ride - from the oval?
And how far would that be from the airport ?

    Thanks

I'll be driving as usual (not like last year's bus trip - not doing THAT again...)

Probably stay at the formule 1 motel just outside the city. Basic as hell, but cheap

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I'm driving down with JF, Boofhead and possibly Alex Evans. Probably staying at Queanbeyan. Leaving Sydney @ 5:00pm friday night and driving to Manuka to pole banner.

Can't help you with the accommodation sorry. I'll be driving down and back on the day with the _babes and picking up Destructive in Goulburn on the way through.

driving down, not sure yet whether we're doing a flying visit or staying over.

We usually stay at the Telopea Inn which is across the road from the oval. Not all that cheap (like formaula 1), but it's handy and there's no parking issues

Driving down the highway from Sydney on the Saturday morning and head back after the game. I got the tickets through Ticketmaster 7 about a week ago!
                  Swannies for life!

                    I realised that!!!!!

My mum is pretty high maintenance and she'll want to drive to Sydney to stay at the Boulevard if there is no luxury in Canberra. Whatever the taxi driver prefers.

You are going to drive from Melbourne to Sydney to go to a game in Canberra, then drive from Canberra to Sydney to Melbourne to go home?

You must have a novated lease...

Just no sense of Geography (or any other kind for that matter)!

If you want luxury in Canberra the Hyatt is quite close to Manuka. It's the old British Embasssy)

Rydges (a 5 min stroll from the ground) is no slouch and often has good week-end rates.

There are lots of small hotels quite close to Manuka. It's Public Service territory. The Brassey is quite good though the rooms are small.
