Originally posted by Swansinger I've never been down to Manuka , but I intend to go for the game next month.
I've decided that I'm going to take the'plane on Saturday morning but I'd like some advice on two things please :
1.What's the best way to get match tickets ?
2.Where is a decent no-frills place to stay that's within easy reach - no more than a ten-minute taxi ride - from the oval?
And how far would that be from the airport ?
Thanks
I went up to Canberra from Melbourne last year by motor vehicle (never again, particularly on the way back with a hangover that felt like a trible of elephants had stormed my head), whereby we (4 people per two bedroom apartment) stayed at Pinnacle Apartments in Manuka for roughly $35-40 a night - very good deal indeed, as it is modern accomodation, cheap and fully self-contained. The Pinnacle is literally three Mark Bayes drop punts from the oval and 500 metres from the Manuka shops and nightclub district. The Pinnacle is 10km from the airport.
This year there will be a crew of 10 (some Kanga fans, some Swannies and an evil Collingwood girlfriend keeping us ratbags in line) of us heading to Canberra by plane, whereby we will dump the bags in the apartments and head straight to the Holy Grail nightclub for some food and drinkies.....I will be the one propped up on the bar on Friday and Saturday night at the Grail....
Canberra security is pretty slack when it comes to getting into the ground, as last year they didn't even have bar coding to swipe my Club Support (Sydney of course) AFL membership. Therefore, I promptly (and sneakily) gave the membership to friends to get in to the ground....
Otherwise, as stated in earlier posts, tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster7 or at the ground. There are both Reserved seating and General Admission ticket options.
Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

Can't help you with the accommodation sorry. I'll be driving down and back on the day with the _babes and picking up Destructive in Goulburn on the way through.
Oh thats good! I'm still going! I'll be sure to be wearing my stackhat when in the car.
Teal,
Can you pick me up a ticket? We don't have ticketmaster7 in Goulburn.

The Boulevard ROCKS. Maybe my mum doesn't know the game is in Canberra? She's prob never even heard of 'Manuka Oval' itself.
I HATE small rooms! I have to be impressed. My mum is soemtimes a nitwit with places so don't start giving me the Geography lecture when I'm not the driver, better yet the decision maker. And, if I got frequent driver points, gee, I dunno, I don't have any friends whatsoever that would drive interstate atleast 10 hours away from home 7 times a year. I deserve the points. I deserve points for a free airfare. Yum.
