Brownlow form stirs again in Goodes

    SMH article

Training last week was flat out for me and I'm close enough to 100 per cent without the match fitness.

And Goodes will play at CHB.

Swans coach Paul Roos said Goodes would play about 60 to 70 minutes against Collingwood, and was likely to rotate with Lewis Roberts-Thomson at centre half-back, a position Roos feels Goodes can develop into during the season.

Either would be a good challenge for him. (and LRT for that matter)

"I'd like to think he could become a very good centre half-back and I'm sure he could, but obviously there's the temptation when the game's flowing the other way to think: 'Do I throw him in as the ruck rover or at full-forward?' He's such a talented player. Certainly going into the year I hope he can develop into a really good centre half-back."

ruck rover eh.. good to see Roos is thinking about that position for Goodes.

Or is Roos playing silly buggers? I "hope" Goodes develops into a good CHB but I have no intention of playing him there unless LRT, James etc do not come on as I expect.

good to see him back, but hope its not at chb at all. Ease him back in the forward line would be better

Does anyone else ever get the feeling that Roos has decided that "Goodesy can be CHB" and is stubborn enough to play him there despite it possibly not being the best use of him?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

maybe he wants to make sure we dont forget he was great at chb when he played

Or maybe Roos has a better knowledge of Goodes' abilities and the weaknesses he sees in the current team structure than does the collective nous of RWO?

He was tried last year at CHB after he damaged his knees. I think its only fair that we give him a chance this year - fully fit - to prove himself.

Goodes succeeding at CHB would be simply awesome for us.
