Big year ahead - Jon Anderson does not have us in the 8.

The 2005 Herald Sun Season Preview came out on Saturday.

The following did not have us in their top 8.

Garry Lyon - has never liked us anyway.
Scott Gullan - spent most of last season in Athens and is always at the bottom of the tipping. Must have married the bosses daughter.
    Daryl Timms?
Michael Stevens - another perennial cellar dweller in the tipping. His son Mark knows a heck of a lot more.

The other one is Jon Anderson (can't even spell his own christian name). Now the esteemed Mr Anderson is our "barometer".

Every time he rates us we go ordinary. Everytime he "pots" us we have a very good season.

    His 8 is:
    Geelong - he supports them
West Coast - falls for them every year
    StKilda
    Port
    Brisbane
    Melbourne
Collingwood (haw, haw, haw) Don't underestimate Mick!!!
    Essendon

Brownlow - Byron Schammer and he doesn't have Freo in the 8.

Anderson is on breakfast radio in Melbourne as a sports "expert".
He comments on all sorts of sports and seems to know little.
The only time he talks about a winner at the races was about 20 years ago when he was a cadet journo.

In Sunday H/S 3 out of 6 "experts" had us out of the 8.

The highest anyone had us was 5th.

    So it's underestimated once again.

    So here we go again

I disagree with that totally. They can't call themselves "experts" when it could be the Queen of England for all we care giving us these so called "expert" previews. It doesn't even make a difference because they're only giving their own point of view on the game.

Brownlow - Byron Schammer and he doesn't have Freo in the 8.
You can still have a great year and be out of the top 8.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Obviously J Anderson knows zip about AFL. But I'm happy to be under the radar again!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yes he can......Don't forget Jon Baker. Whenever Ponch would get miffed with him he would call him Jonathan.

          Cheers from Sharp9 (Jonathan)

BTW John is not short for Jonathan, nor Jonathan long for John...in case you're interested.

Jonathan is actually short for Joseph-Nathan. If you've read your bible - which I haven't.

To the matter at hand, nearly all Melbourne media are completely blind where the Swans are concerned. One of those tipsters had Carlton, Collingwood and the Roos in the eight.

          We'll see.

Melbourne journos frequently put the big two - Essendon and Collingwood - into the 8 - these are probably the two least likely to make it of Anderson's list.

I had an interesting conversation with someone on the weekend. They told me that Richard Colless wouldn't be at all unhappy if Sydney finished out of the 8.
Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.

Well maybe they're not just "anyone" you got to know who they really are.

Just a little tongue in cheek Sharp or is it Jon.

Guilty. I have not read the Bible and not one of my lifetime ambitions.

I have though read the Football Bible.
