But it is still nice to lknow that you smakced some teams during the season. (and don't forget those many close wins we have endured as fans!!!!!!!!!!) -
Not sure why anyone will think the Hawks will be a rabble.
They have a poor forward line but that is about as bad as it gets really.
They have a great Back 6 (now Graham has f#cked off). CROAD, SMITH, JACOBS, HAY, BROWN etc.
A stong Midfield SPIDER, CRAWF, MITCHELL, VANDES, poss HODGE etc.
From what I saw in the preseason, DIXON is starting to look enthusiastic and very fit.
You just can't pencil in wins ahead of time. All you can do is be prepared as best as you can.

How can you say that? It's only the first game of the year. We got thrashed in the first game of '96 and went on to make the GF. Hawthorn beat Melbourne easily in Rd 1 last year, look where they both finished. A lot happens after the first game. I certainly wouldn't be writing us off on one game.Originally posted by barry
