Not sure why anyone will think the Hawks will be a rabble.

They have a poor forward line but that is about as bad as it gets really.

They have a great Back 6 (now Graham has f#cked off). CROAD, SMITH, JACOBS, HAY, BROWN etc.

A stong Midfield SPIDER, CRAWF, MITCHELL, VANDES, poss HODGE etc.

From what I saw in the preseason, DIXON is starting to look enthusiastic and very fit.

You just can't pencil in wins ahead of time. All you can do is be prepared as best as you can.

For the record, I think we'll just kick a score better than their's because our forward line is stronger.

But it's only Collingwood, they don't count! Besides, they lost a final so they weren't undefeated over the whole season.

The South Melbourne season of 1918 is still the best ever ... only loss was by 5 points

You missed my point about the Hawks not necessarily being a rabble.

How can you say that? It's only the first game of the year. We got thrashed in the first game of '96 and went on to make the GF. Hawthorn beat Melbourne easily in Rd 1 last year, look where they both finished. A lot happens after the first game. I certainly wouldn't be writing us off on one game.

ill be upset if we dont win, but only cos im upset after any loss. I wouldnt think it mattered too much, for all we know the hawks might be a good side this year....though i doubt it

And absolutely no depth to go with that.

Good to see we are sitting numero uno with only one game to play in the round and that being pies v dogs should be close.

Good work Swans. Now lets try and keep our % over 200 by thrashing the roos.

                        Sorry but... BWAH!

Their back 6 looked crap, their midfield played in bursts but made a lot of errors, and they had no forward structure to speak of.

                        Now on to tougher assignments.

Still new to this - can someone explain to me how they work out the winning percentage ...
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!
