    Hawk HQ Match preview

Check out the Hawk HQ match preview. It seems the Hawks are about to blood some new players. Interesting to note that they think Heath James will play.

That preview touches on one of the ways the Hawks have been successful against Sydney recently - by Crawford moving forward or back (where he can still be dangerous), taking Kirk out of the middle in the process.

Will be interesting to see how Roos reacts if they do this again. Does he have another "minder" pencilled in for Crawford if he moves forward, someone who can be more damaging than Kirk on the half-forward or half-back line and who won't be missed as much in the middle?

Ablett would probably be ideal but I doubt will play. Bolton and Fosdike aren't particularly good minders. Crouch may not have quite the fitness base to go with Crawford all game. Maxfield also probably doesn't have the staying power. Sacrificing Williams could be too costly. Buchanan probably isn't quick enough nor experienced enough. That probably just leaves Mathews but not sure if he has the foot speed to keep up.

Put Spriggs on him, tell him if he shuts him down he is a certainty for next week.

Believe it or not, that isn't a stupid thought.

It seems a bit strange to me that they already appear to have conceded defeat going by the predicted result.

way to snatch an insult from the jaws of praise.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

                    Mate,
If you had seen the amount of inane comments as I have here on RWO, both of a general and personal nature, you would be a little agressive and perhapes even defensive as well.
                    Go Swans.

PS, I actually hope Spriggs doen't play.
When we have the likes of demster and mcveigh, why would we want to pick passenger types like Spriggs or Fosdick??
"So our recruiting is not made to look as appalling as it actually is" I hear you say ?
Bullseye-there is cultural pressure at this club to give the status quoe a crack, which keeps the culture of the "ordinary" alive and well on the Swans list.
At a real club, the coach gets to play funny buggers and do what he wnts when he wants for whatever reason.
I can't see Mathews playing Fosdick Or Spriggs when you have potentiol Brownlow winners waiting in the wings with good preseason credentials.
But then again the Swans aint the Lions are they??

Hey! How can we decide whether Spriggs is good for our team or not if we haven't seen him play with our boys?
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Have you not been following preseason ?
                          Fairdinkum.
What about his history at Geelong (can't hit targets), it's still the same.
My original point still stands, why play an average player when you have truely talented rookies yet to be played who could become anything ?
Answer: cos you will loose face by not playing your over priced draft picks.
Conclusion: A club who does not believe in them selves to groom talent.

OPPS I take it back just sa they dropped spriggs and fosdike.
Well done- went with talent and form.
Pity about demster, but he will get his chance.
