Fosdike should have been traded last year while he had some value... he will be discarded at the end of the season unless there is a massive form turnaround...

Should have been traded in '03 imo.

        Totally agree.

Yep. We tried to get their 2nd round pick but they wouldn't budge.

The way I read it was that they were interested but baulked at the size of his contract.

Why is his contract so massive?

Same here. I read it as they were happy with what they had to part with day 1 but weren't happy about the contract dollars (I believe it came out at the time he was on around 300k?).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

This all assumes of course that another club would want him. If he's excess to our requirements, what makes anyone think he'd be wanted elsewhere? Just because we want to trade him doesn't mean any other club will waltz in and hand us a key position player or a high draft pick (as cool as that would be!). This is all separate to any issues about his salary.

I agree, he'd have to be worth twice that.

Neither did Adelaide which is I think what the problem was with the trade. I am sure the number was that large ('though I might be confusing it with Jude "worth every cent, watch this laces up delivery to the forwards" Bolton's new contract). My understanding was that Adelaide were keen and he is well enough regarded around the traps, just not for that sort of money.

FWIW I like Nic and think he is a useful enough player. Yeah I know, I know, I know!
