Thanks for that...............you're a hive of information. One more thing I used to love watching Kenelley & Barry's hard running out of the backline..............are those days over. I only noticed Barry do that once in the final quarter.

He did it a few times but could not find anyone to kick to at least twice so 'went for touch'.

Our style of play is abysmal - what is it with this indirect short kicking - it doesn't work!!
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Sorry, grasshoppers, but this is not about winning or loosing a game. I know that the Swans will loose more games this year, and it's about their performance when loosing one I'm worried about. If the game was played in bad wheather conditions I could understand, but this is something beyond me. No, this is not a championship team yet. Not this year.

And he put it smack on the chest of Hall's opponent when Barry lead 20 metres the other way.

Kennelly's game - that of a dill. Holding, in the back, fumbles, turnovers etc.etc.etc.

I was sitting right near that. Just as Leo put his head down to kick, Hall veered off at about 45 degrees. His opponent kept his eye on the ball and it hit him on the chest. Leo looked up and couldn't believe Hall wasn't there. It was just a strange day to be at the footy. You'd have thought none of them had met each other before the first bounce at times.

                1996 Grand Final
1997 finals fadeout, recruited stop gaps
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 sloooowwwwly going down the gurgler with a defensive style that fostered mediocrity and coach's survival.

2002 Revolution, new coach promises new attacking style.
2003 play inspired run on attacking footy and nearly pull off a miracle.
2004 we look forward to more inspired exhillerating footy but notice that an old pattern emerges. Coach finds a copy of previous coach's manual in top drawer in coaches room.
Go out in semi final similar to 90's style.

2005 recruited experienced players, one doesn't play 1st 2 rounds because not in best 22. Lose round 2 in similar type of game against St Kilda in 2002, only difference is we drew game in 2002. Players seem to be in a rut of a defensive mode (refer 2002). When they do break clear have no idea what to do. Alah Nicks - one bounce 2 bounces sprints through the centre seemingly to kick long one out to FF one on one. But oh no he does the team thing and over possesses/handpasses to a player covered in front by Roos player who picks it off - was it a goal to the Roos?
Bolton J bolts clear on the wing twice (my god I have a free run here what do I do) and kicks straight to an opponent 20 metres on his own, twice.

It goes on and on and on.

Role back the clock folks because if nothing happens to this "game plan" we are in for a repeat era.

We do have players with flare and run, for crying out loud Roos do something about in now. Where is the new style and game plan you promised us and probably the board when you put your 5 year plan up to get the job.

                Richard where are you?

It appears our coach may not have the faith in his players to play anything but mediocre footy. Gee those blokes who were there when Roos took over must be totally confused. But then again get in the finals and the coach's salary will be justified.

Rodney, I am sorry for bagging you.

Yeh, hand/eye coordination and vision is a bit of a worry with us at the mo.

Sorry ROK, but he should have picked Hall's move, there is no excuse for such poor execution.

I've said this before and I'll keep saying it till it invevitably happens: Tadhg is not a backman!

He is an elite level player - does brilliantly in the International Rules series against top opposition.

I believe he should play half forward - there is an easy 40 goals a year for us!

I agree Nico, but I think the blame could be shared. Neither seemed to be aware of what the other was doing. Hall changed direction very late.

Vision is a huge problem. Is the chip kick and hand pass game a result of not looking further afield. Time and again players 40-50m away are ignored in favour of the short pass to the bloke under pressure. Is that the game plan, or is it that thye just cannot see what is on upfield and got the sort option instead?

I don't believe it's a skills thing (we do OK at other times) - I think it's a head thing. There are two teams in Sydney, the Swans and the Keystone Kops. In the last quarter today the Kops took over - turnovers, bad delivery, stupid handballs - you name it, we did it. Meanwhile the Kangas were hitting their targets. They're not a bad team, but they're not as good as we are. It's a head thing. Roos needs to fix it.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It's the game plan, Roos tried to justify it at the post match press conference by blaming the skills of the team.
The team maybe be very out of form, but the game plan suxs. When will Roos own responsability for his influence and his mistakes?

It is really interesting. Listening to footy talk back all week at times they talk about the top 6 coaches. Never once has Roos been mentioned. And I initially thought he was so refreshing in his approach he could be the next super coach, and I wasn't alone on here.
