Now we know why the Lions headhunted Cressa from the Cats - they are afraid of Sydney and wanted his knowledge.

Just think how much inside info he'll have when he comes back to us. Should we send him for a stint at Port before he comes back?

Roos was on SEN this afternoon talking about the current state of the game.

The first question raised by Matthew Hardie (a comedian with no football experience) basically fingered his game plan for ruining the game.

You could just feel the tension and anger through the airwaves, Roos was pi**ed with the statement.

To his credit he composed himself and played the question with a straight bat, but he did hammer home the point that Brisbane had won three of the last four premierships by flooding behind and around the ball and zoning off in defence. He also pointed out that the other team to beat them has a game plan which is structured around a mantra of never kicking to contest despite having the comp's most damaging tall forward.

Roos is right in that plenty of other teams flood and Brisbane have done it brilliantly. To me the problem in our game isn't the flooding, it's the continual stoppages around the ground.

Brisbane flood, gain possession, rush it out and either get it quickly in the forward 50 or work it around purposefully. We did the former pretty well in '03. We've not really mastered the latter all that well.

i think roos can make all the game plans he wants, some of the players seem to just lack footy instincts, they try to be too fancy and clever and play little set plays, when really its a simple game, get the ball kick it long and get it through the big posts and hit the guy in the crowd cheering for the opposition!
