    GIve it up for Dempster

The boy has talent, poise and skill and should be kept in and shown the same faith that has been given to LRT. He could be the third running defender that enables Kennelly and Barry to play their game. The three have the potential to become the games best attacking HB line in the league.

When he calmly beat two Lions to run the ball through for a behind (even though it wasn't brain surgery or particularly brave etc) it was pretty impressive. I'd give him another game for sure!

Pretty impressive start - Pleased that he didn't start on the ground but was held back till the boring bit was over. (and the unessary bump and crash part was over) I was impressed with his composure, balance , skills and knew the swans game plans well.

Keep it up and keep a spot in the team!

I feel that he could hold down a key position by the end of the year?

I think he would need to bulk up first to be a KPP.

I am pleased he got a run; that rushed behind in the last quarter was top stuff.

Very impressive game from Sean - quick, skilled and above all, balanced.

I reckon he may be a chance to be nominated for the Rising Star award this week!

Seems like an all round type. Speed (he just glides through the pitch), Poise, Balance, Stamina, and SKILLS! Also shows alot of confidence in backing himself which reminded me of a youngster who wowed us back in 03 called Adam Schneider

Also there will be a thread later this year titled Give it up for Malceski after he makes his debut.....You know it's true

i think he should be bulked up a bit and made into a chb he has the height and clerarly has the skill and his speed and agility would hold him in good stead a very good debut

I thought as soon as Sean kept his feet sprinting for the ball with Voss in the last quarter and calmly put it through for a behind that we have a potential 150-200 gamer...no pressure though!!

Im not sure if he can be groomed into a CHB. I think he is a few cm too short and most importantly too skinny. In other words, he needs to be considerably bulky and strong to make up for being a few cms shorter than he needs to be.

A comparison to Jared Rivers, who is a few months younger:

                      Dempster: 189cm 79kg
                      Rivers: 191cm 85kg

                      Compare this to seasoned KPP:

                      Leppitsch: 191cm 97kg
                      Michael: 190cm 99kg
                      Fletcher: 196cm 101kg

Is it possible to put on about 20kg of muscle? I dont know. But I think, like Saddo, he'll be out-muscled time and again if he was to face the likes of Tredrea, Brown etc.

Is Dempster 189 or 192cm? I think probably the latter as he would have grown since starting with us, the earlier numbers are probably out of date. Some blokes bulk up naturally, others just can't. Just after Sean was drafted we stayed a night in Mallacoota and the motel owner assured us that Graeme (who is the local real estate agent) was " a mountain of a man". From what I have seen on the Vault Dempster snr was a yard of pumpwater in his playing days. Do any of the old bloods remember how his body progressed with playing years?

I got the feeling from reports during the off-season that there were no real expectations of Malceski playing seniors this year, having to come back from his knee injury. Roosy was more just looking for solid improvement in the 2s, so he's ready to slot into the seniors next year fully fit and confident with his new knee.

Bugger this bulking up crap. Bulk him up and he is likely to lose speed.

He has his father's build but is quicker and more mobile and shorter. He showed us on Saturday that he can play footy with his current stature and could mix it in the real hard crunches first up.

Why try to change him? He will bulk up a little as he goes on, naturally. How long do we have to wait until someone is perfectly reading? It doesn't happen.

He can bloody well play so keep playing him.

AND maybe ends up that KPP backman we desperately need.

No question he can play and has a big future. What we didn't see last week is that he kicks the ball a mile accurately and is a one grab mark.

The question is where will he play. If he puts on muscle, great, KPP. If he doesn't halfback flank, midfield or even forward like so many other blokes. KPP's are gold, it is very difficult to win premierships without good ones and we need one.
