I doubt they'd play 3 ruckman, especially when Clarke is pretty much useless anywhere else.

To see an open competition, check out the 1993 season. Ignore the Swans getting the spoon with one win, and the next two sides having four wins.

In 1993, a year with a 15-team competition, the difference between top spot and twelfth was three and a half games. Incredible.

Yeah, I remember 1993. Very open and why the 'Baby Bombers' surprised all with their win. The PF comeback against Adelaide was a highlight! I remember the Swans year as forgettable!!

good signs so far from teams like Richmond, Hawthorn, Carlton etc that they may finish with more wins than last year. Although you'd really be worrying if they couldn't put up a good fight in the first few round. I can see someone other than Port or Brisbane finishing top. Will be interesting to see whether the eagles and demons can maintain their form and make a real premiership push

              Swans by 29.
Remember that last year Port's average losing margin was 51pts! They are a team that loses in a heap, so the size of the margin on the weekend is not as relevant.

I tip it to be close for most of the game, but the Swans to win comfortably in the end.

My interest lies in who will play this weekend. Roos cant afford to debut anyone else (Moore or Schmidt) because it will just give him more headaches at the selection table next week

I think last rounds monster clash between Port & Brisbane left both teams ripe for the picking by us and the Crows.

                So while Adelaide's defence and attack don't worry me much . . . .
McLeod, Goodwin, Riccuito et. etc. do, especially if Clark gives them good service.

It will be a huge test for Ablett, Kirk, Bolton etal

                  According to:

Burton will be out. I think he causes us issues when we play the Cows so that's good!

I have to watch the crows every week and i think their strength lies in the midfield. They have the obvious ones such as mcleod and roo, but one player who seems to be forgotten sometimes is goodwin. He is a very talented midfielder. If we can shut the midfield down we should win.

It also depends on how welsh goes. At his best he looks like a premier forward, but he can go awalk about, perrie has some ability, but seems to lack a lot of confidence.

I was confident hall would easily dominate but after seeing mcgreggor on tredrea it will be tough. He was fierce at the ball and kept tredrea very quiet and will probably play on hall.

I still hope and think he can, a lot of people get so focussed on his strength they forget that he is a VERY fast leading forward. A very different player to Tredrea despite their equally imposing physiques.

In what way different? Tredrea is also a very fast leading forward and very good when the ball is on the ground.

tredrea is reasonably similar to hall and would give mcgreggor a lot of confidence to take hall on.

I think barry can beat mcgreggor was justy highlighting the fact it wont be easy. The crows looked rejuvinated on the weekend and have some impressive youngsters like henstchel (however u spell it), if they play with the same endevour and vigour they did against port it will be a good match, a lot better than when we played them last year

Size of the ground makes a difference. They struggle at the Dome in Melbourne so I suggest it is easier for us to shut down their midfield at the SCG.

Craig plays a shut down game often, so expect him to try to shut as down rather than be attacking. Could be another arm wrestle for a good part of the game.

they won their last game at telstra dome, and they should be inspired by the fact they won a game with direct attacking footy. Wether its a fast paced attacking match or a slow game full of stoppages it wont be as easy as some experts are tipping!
