Granted they won, but they played a woeful Pies outfit and just got up.

They simply do not have a forward structure to kick enough points. Of course ours still has to, but unless we give their midfield free reign to kick goals, their forwards will struggle.

Remember that there is no Burton or Carey this time around, and Ladhams with his annoying freak goals looks out of the team.

While Barry has improved his overhead marking out of sight in recent years, I don't hink he's Warren's equal overhead. On the other hand at that time Barry's speed was his greatest asset (in fact he's one of the fastest key position players I've ever seen), and there ain't a lot you can do to increase leg speed.

Tredrea is still a much bette overhead mark than Hall. In terms of pace, Hall is quick but I'm not sure if he's significantly quicker than Tredrea, who is also very fast.

What's funny about that is their Pointrs For is only 6 pts behind our's, and we've played Hawthorn!

On paper their goal kicking ability seems weak - hopefully we can make that happen.

Remarkably, the Crows made Port look weaker than the Hawks. We broke the Lions open for one quarter - they managed the same on Port for the whole game.

*cough* Hall, quick? When he gets up to speed he can get fast but he turns and accelerates like a truck.

And tredrea's moves like the QVB I suppose.

And I repeat: Port's average losing margin last year was 51pts!

The size of the result means little.

When Port lose they really seem to throw the towel in.

As for Hall and Tredrea, I think they both move reasonably quick for big men and are both pretty agile, although I think Tredrea may have an edge there.

I don't understand. So if the Hawks beat Port by 100 points, we couldn't read anything into that because Port always roll over and die?

Wouldn't that mean that the Pies were almost as good as the Lions in the 2003 GF because they had some loses that year before they were thrashed in the Grand Final.

If I was a Crows supporter, I'd be pretty happy this week because my team completely dominated the reigning premiers. Sure they had injuries but they also had a lot of premiership players and they didn't get a look in. In fact I'd be pretty confident as the Crows got ready to fly over to Sydney for the game.

The AFL website predicts a Swans win by 12 points. I feel cursed already.

It's with some trepidation that I use statistics to argue with NMWBloods but the quarter by quarter scores were:

                              Adelaide
                              3:2
                              9:5
                              13:13
                              18:16

                              Port
                              1:1
                              5:2
                              7:5
                              8:8

If Port players throw the towel in when they are going to lose, they certainly plan their losses early in the game. If Paul Keating played for the Crows (goal sneak?) I think he'd describe that as a beautiful set of numbers.

Sometimes Port just seem to turn up and aren't really going and by half time are down a few goals and they just throw the towel in during the second half. They did this a few times last year and that's what seemed to happened on the weekend too.
