Got Milk? Got Superstars? Got Roos.

    Article:
    roosy talks

"As a team we have got to come with a hard mindset for every single game, you can't have a mental letdown.

"Some teams probably can because, particularly in the midfield when you have got three or four superstars who can turn a game around in 5-10 minutes.

"But for our guys it is physically and mentally exhausting because they know they have got to work very hard every single week so we just have to keep reminding them of that until we develop some players in the middle of the ground that are game-breakers."

When is Roos going to stop using this excuse of everyone has superstars but we dont? Adelaide is a young developing team who were harder, faster, and stronger than we were on the day. The Kangas have no amazing stand-out superstars either. And we can turn around a game in 5-10 mins, was he not at the Brisbane game? Or did he leave in the 4th and thats why we won it?
Reality check - EVERY TEAM HAS TO GO TO WORK HARD EVERY SINGLE WEEK - ITS CALLED FOOTBALL ROOS, IF U DONT KNOW THAT THEN U SHOULDNT BE COACHING OUR TEAM!!

It's getting a bit old that line isn't it?

Proof is in the pudding. The first team to beat the Dees this year did so playing fast direct footy to a dominant spearhead.

If we play that overuse rubbish on Saturday night it could be a blood bath and after that...well, I don't think you'll have too much of a beer line at the Dons game at Homebush.

I find it very disappointing that Roos keeps trotting out this waffle.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

He says the same old @@@@ every time we lose like we did on Sunday. Our blue-collar, hardworking, determined, non-superstar midfield should be made to pull their thumbs out of their bums but never are.

Roos' defensive outlook (both on and off the field) is killing me.

Another one of roos many cliches. I switch over to another channel when an interview with roosy comes on. He is just full of them these days.

But in reality, it's true, he's right. The question remains though, how far responsible is he for creating such a situation?

In all fairness to Roos, he is still correct though. And I dont hear anyone on these boards agreeing that J Bolton or Kirk or Matthews are superstars. Those of us who dare even hint at them being above average players get shot down in flames.

And for the record, who here would knock back Tyson Edwards, Andrew McLeod or Mark Riccuito?

Or for that matter Brent Harvey, Adam Simpson or Shannon Grant?

The line is certainly a tired and overused one, but only because the truth is. Lets just hope that with Schmidt, Willoughby, McVeigh, Moore and co we may unearth some extra talent.

With the two and half years he's had? And yet Terry Wallace has been given 5yrs and a bunch of top-flight draft picks.

I've noticed that he has changed the line from "we don't have any superstars" to "we don't have enough superstars" to "we don't have enough midfield superstars"... has has at least 6 All-Australians, 1 of them being a Brownlow medal winner.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

but only 2 in the midfield, one of which is close to the end of his career and the other who plays primarily a defensive role.

Its true, we dont have any/enough midfield superstars.

Its obviously too draining on them and so they can only do it once every two weeks, hence the L-W-L-W-L record recently.
