So if Jolley's ankle goes again and LRT loses say, 20 bounces in a row, at what point do you think it might make sense for Goodes to play a role he has played well? Or would you bring Baz out of FF?
Part of the reason that Goodes was so valuable to us in 2003 was that he was a ruckman it was very hard to match up on. Now he is too precious to do that any more?
Maybe we shouldn't play Willo in the centre any more, he's shown you can get hurt there, too?

and he can throw his back out reaching for his remote control tomorrow morning or even worse drop a bottle of after-shave on his foot.
Yes he got injuried playing there last year, but the fact remains he just isn't the same player in a set position such as CHF or CHB as witnessed by his 2000, 2001 and 2004 seasons. Put him in the ruck, no matter what the injury risks or size difference and you'll have him playing most likely like his 1999, 2002 and 2003 seasons.
Which do YOU want to see??? I know what I want and option a isn't it.
So Roos bite the bullet and either use him as a ruckman or if thats too much for you, at least put him in the centre and use him as a midfielder and get him to make an impact on the game once again. Otherwise he would start to be of little use to us very quickly.

I read an article recently that Goodes has been feeling a lot better about his knees and his confidence - which relates directly to his creativity - is on the rise. If he continues to create opportunities and kick goals up forward, I can't see Roos moving him into a more permanent midfield/ruck role unless he's got no choice. (Like if Jolly didn't get up vs Melbourne)

If they are going lightly on his knee then how dumb would it be to ask him to take the centre bounces.
Well, given that LRT showed tonight that he plays ruck as well as he plays every other position - and that Jolly will be under scrutiny for kneeing - Goodes will probably be playing ruck next week.
Thought he did pretty well tonight, got a few clearances although most were not effective. Agree about Jolly, I think he is gone. Cox and Seaby will have a field day next week.
But why when he got it just off our defensive line of the centre square did he barge the player rather than kick it long or hand pass to our advantage. Both times he got caught and both times it was turned over. It is so indicative of our dumb play.
Where are all these highly paid coaches. Why are we such a dumb side.
Bevan was at it again. He has no vision what so ever. All he wants to do is barge the player. The rules have changed mate, for crying out loud handball it off before the tackle.
