well that and 40 cents will get you a phone call.

Ryan played all over the field tonight. He is filling gaps and playing anywhere from back flank to wing to FF and each time only for a few minutes at a time. That's why Molloy gave him votes, he may not have been as effective as he has in the past but he tried his guts out.

How can he find consistency and settle into a role when it's constantly changing?

Just remember that before commenting on his game as a forward.

For someone who is coasting he was our equal leading goal scorer and spent most of the night away from goal. What does that say about our other forwards?

Summary of Roos after-match press conference:

        - it was a bit like groundhog day
        - ball use was terrible, forward line was dysfunctional
        - the ball run too easily from our forward line
        - 2 or 3 easy goals from centre clearances, like a hot knife through butter
        - we controlled green, yze and johnstone
        - good players rise to the top and good players play good football consistently week in and week out
        - when asked what he would say to players, he replied he should have taped last week and replay that.
        - everyone takes responsibility for the loss, coaching staff included

That sums up the night perfectly.

I'm sure he would have spoken to the players sternley after the game but really he can't be dissapointed with the effort. Its the execution of both basic skills and game plan that is letting us down. No amount of shouting or ranting and raving is going to fix that at this stage.

The balls skills and accuracy of the goal kicking have been shocking of late.
I couldnt help but cringe alot throughout the game.

Ive been told that if the swans were a melbourne based team, that theyd be copping it in the papers and in the streets...i dont know

the good things about the game..Jude and Brett.
alot of players were ok, like Spriggs, Jolly, goodes

but they need to be more than ok. The whole team have to be on their game..lately there have been good pockets of the team but they are let down by others that are struggling

I just hope they find consistency although they are being consistent at playing shocking footy

A little man is sitting in a room with two doors. One door says "Do Not Enter" and the other says "Do Not Exit". So he just sits there, holding his hat.

whats your point? you seem to be offering alot of excuses for why he has been playing very ordinary football (of which hes not alone) have u thought the reason he has been shifted around so much is because they are actually trying to get him into the game and where does it say u have to have one permant role to play good football and what if playing all over the ground is his new role or maybe hes just out of form

What's yours? I thought he was one of the Swans best three players last night. I know there wasn't that much competition but he played a comparable game in terms of work rate, possession count and mostly constructive use of the ball to most of his games last year.

I acknowledge that it's his first OK game for a few weeks but I'd have thought there were more worthy targets coming out of this weekend.

Your right there wasnt much competition, my point is that he has been coasting in the last few weeks and I wouldnt disagree that he was alot better last night. It wasnt a crack at O'keefe more at BAM BAM he/she seems to view him as a untouchable player void of cristicm.

You are from Perth, right? Did you fly over for the match last night? If not I doubt the television showed him constantly having to pick up loose men and make 100 metre leads. He played a unselfish game that had nothing to do with what he did with the footy.

That's actually a way off the truth. Bam Bam has been as critical of ROK in her own measured, balanced way as many other on here over the last few weeks.

Fact is though, that last night things would have been a whole lot worse without him. He made a few mistakes and is allowing himself to get worked under the ball still in marking contests but his work rate was very very good. We were asking for him to lift and he did - substantially. Can we not give credit for that.

I think the debate here about O'Keeefe really goes to the base reason why we are going how we are.

That is on any given week some players are rising from the ashes to play well, then others go back to ordinary. We can't get a group/team of players playing well on any given day.

The reason why that is? Not enough players are unable to put it together week in week out as Roos alluded to.

So the bottom line is that as a team we are not good enough, and individually some players are not up to it.

Back to the drawing board and the 5 year plan starts over again.

The blank look on Roos's face on TV straight after the game said it all.

I reckon he is giving the reasons why we are not winning and they are the same each week, but has now come to the realisation that his playing group has slipped in the pecking order in the comp and the real hard work as coach starts from now.

Which I always said in the lead up to the 02 draft and got howled down for it, but anyway we drafted him and basically he has the talent to play senior football. Problem is we just haven't been given the chance to see the best of him because he just isn't used in the right manner by the coaching staff and needs gametime, gametime, gametime to improve as a player.

You don't improve sitting on the bench.

I liked his game last night, just the forward set up made his work look worse than it was.

On the forwards why the hell is Roos using Hall so close to goal and inviting teams to double team him like the Demons did SO well last night? Miller would of been killed if Hall was used in his normal CHF role, because he would of gotten no help that he got.
