I rarely mention him as most on here know he's my favourite and I do have a biased opinion and I do not want to hang myself out there. However after seeing his game last night and then seeing how he was beeing singled out on here by people not at the ground and unable to see his contribution for what it was I was annoyed.

I don't believe he is untouchable, but I also don't believe it's up to me to bag the hell out of him. I acknowledged he wasn't playing as well as in the past, but I also stated that his contribution was better than many others.

the only time I feel he is untouchable is when people comment on his hair. That's no ones business and I find it rather petty. So bag me for that, but not for my comments last night.

I will however appologise for my 40 cents and a phone call comment, that was too harsh as my opinion is just as important and anyone else on here.

Ryan played all over the field tonight. He is filling gaps and playing anywhere from back flank to wing to FF and each time only for a few minutes at a time. That's why Molloy gave him votes, he may not have been as effective as he has in the past but he tried his guts out.

How can he find consistency and settle into a role when it's constantly changing?

Just remember that before commenting on his game as a forward.

For someone who is coasting he was our equal leading goal scorer and spent most of the night away from goal. What does that say about our other forwards?
Oh Well, if Jarrod Molloy gave him votes I stand corrected!

He had his best game of the year last night - nothing to be proud of. I guess I am not in love with him - probably the main problem.

Don't get me wrong - he is a good footballer that I saw play a lot of games at Port Melbourne - unfortunately if he gets dropped again he will play in the a very average league!

We made basic skill errors in the forward line and too much bloody handpassing in the backline. To make matters worse we laid down and died when Melbourne put two goals on us in the last quarter.
Even with that effort it was still dissappointing to see Sydney fans clap the team off. Those people should be ashamed. I would never clap my team off if they played like they have played in the last two weeks. i wouldn't boo them either but just stand in silence so the players can get it through their thick ego-filled heads that we (the fans) are not happy with their performances

Problem is we just haven't been given the chance to see the best of him because he just isn't used in the right manner by the coaching staff and needs gametime, gametime, gametime to improve as a player.

You don't improve sitting on the bench.

I liked his game last night, just the forward set up made his work look worse than it was.

On the forwards why the hell is Roos using Hall so close to goal and inviting teams to double team him like the Demons did SO well last night? Miller would of been killed if Hall was used in his normal CHF role, because he would of gotten no help that he got.
Robbie, would think you should see a whole game this week from both McVeigh & Spriggs due to the size of Subi.

Hopefully Roos let's em both go head to head with Cousins (Spriggs) & Fletcher (McVeigh). That leaves Kirk to run with Judd and probably Stenglein to tag Jude Bolton.

Would also love to see Kennelly be given a run on the wing against Embley. We could then slot Saddington onto a half back line and we can continue with Dempster who has been very sound so far.

Whilst we have not won in Perth recently our form has been good over there. The size of the ground and space has suited our undersized defence in previous years and hopefully if we at least retain the effort this week hopefully our form can improve.

Neil Cordy basically intimated that that would happen on Ten News. So the pressure has been put on Roos to finally make the swing and put him where he plays his best football.

I just find it hard to see why Roos appears to be dragging and screaming into all this. For somebody who I once saw as a coach who I considered to be a "breath of fresh air" because he just let his players go and play, he seems so frightened of taking risks like this.

I say live dangerously. I'd love to see Goodes in the ruck again. aAnd Tagdh on a wing.

While I am not saying that Kennelly is the best defender we have, maybe Roos is a bit reluctant to move him until Schuable returns.

This at least releases Leo Barry to assume a more attacking role and thus freeing up Kennelly for a position on the wing.

For some reasons though he does seem reluctant to move Kennelly away from defence.

Here's hoping JF that him & Embley go head to head this week, should be a great contest up and down the spaces on the Subi wings.

I should have added that we have not recruited too many players who might be able to play multiple positions.

I'd argue the opposite. I think the team has a high proportion of utilities at the expense of players naturally suited to a specific role. The number of tall-but-not-tall-or big-enough defenders come forwards is testament - B2, Kennelly, Saddo, Davis Jnr, Dempster, Leo, Nicks, Sundqvist - lots of 3rd defenders / flankers / tall wingmen / possible midfield rotatees but few specialised KPPs or on-ball playmakers.
