I'm glad your not picking the side, all those changes would give us not a snow flakes in hell chance of wining.

Why you would drop McVeigh, Scheinder, Spriggs, Matthews and possibly Bucky when playing on the largest ground in Australia against the team with the greatest running power is beyond me.

You reckon? He was atrocious in Brisbane and hasn't been much better since.

He may dive in and get the footy, but he is of no use when 90% of his kicks are under 20m in length and are headed in sometimes unknown locations. And his handpasses are often even worse I'd drop him first. @nd season syndrome for him, i feel. And move Tadgh to the wing.

Here is a brainwave, why not Tadgh on the ball to cover Williams' loss? how would people react to that? Do you think it would work? could his body cope with being an onballer?

At the moment I am prepared to look at anything. Even Tarot card readers!

Tadhg is one of the least consistent performers in the team. Hardly worth putting our hopes in at the moment.

But if it helps him find some form, well, I'd try anything

I honestly think it could. He is a talented player who i think has been traped in the mindset of constantly trying to play on out of defense when it isn't on.

Getting him on the ball and just folowing the play may be a way for him to just forget everything else and go after the footy.

He IS the type of player who likes to take em on and run to goal. Without Williams the only player to ever be in a position to do that would be either Leo Barry out of defence or Goodesy.

Thoughts peoples? Tadgh at ruck rover isn't as stupid as it sounds.

Yes, Tadhg hasn't played brilliantly in the past couple of weeks, but there are quite a few friends who would join him.

It was Tadhg dash off the half back line in the 3rd quarter and in the last quarter against the Lions that started too turn the match. I remember the commentators even saying that it was Tadgh's run that finally got the Swan's moving in that game.

All players go through a form slump, unfortunately it may well be his turn...but he is not the only one!

Football is 99% about the shoulders and at the moment the whole team seems to be struggling...one good goal, one good mark etc. can turn a season (crossing my fingers!)

I had him as half froward line...he needs something different.

Why not let him run with Judd on the ball for a while? He has the speed and may learn a few lessons on the way. Judd would take him to the ball and Tadgh can also play on him if he goes forward (which he will to rest from the midfield).

I'd like to see Roos say, we have our backs to the wall, chances of winning are slim. Lets go for an out and out shootout!!! We have better forwards than the Eagles, so lets give them a chance to out score them, so just bang it in long and let the forwards win the ball in the air or at ground level.

I don't think making alot of changes is the answer to our current situation. Most of the guys playing are tried and true and I think we are getting a bit hysterical about things. We do have quite an injury list, mostly midfielders/top up players.I hope the selectors don't panic and common sense will prevail. If our current form does continue then it is time for change.

Tried and True??? Tried yes!!, True, not all of them.

Our biggest injury concerns are the ruckmen( including Jollys 1 match ban, coz the will injure the team).

                      Out:
                      Jolley (susp),
                      Mathews - I don't care if he's a running player, he's crap. It also stated that he's awaiting a scan....maybe that's for a semblance of skill. I'm expecting a negative result.
O'Loughlin - he's not fit, he's not playing well, he's just not there atm. Our forward line is rogered, and admittedly he's not the only one who's not up to it but we've got to make some changes and .

                      In:
                      Schauble,
                      Maxy
                      Moore.

                      Questions:
                      a) What IS up with Saddington? Didn't play in the twos (according to those on here) but not on the injury list. I don't get it.
                      b) Doyle: What is 'indefinite'? Can we promote a rookie? I reckon Vogels - showed enough to be worth a punt.

How bout this for a lineup:

                      Crouch Schaubs Nicks
                      Barry Bolton Dempster
                      Kennelly Kirk Maxfield
                      Davis Goodes McVeigh
                      LRT O'Keeffe Buchanan

                      R: Hall, B1, NOG.
                      Int: Moore, Bevan, Schneider, Spriggs.

                      Comments:
Let's face it, we're gonna get pumped on the weekend. Unfortunately with our injury list we can't make wholesale changes and bring in the players we want.
Ruck to be shared with Hall, Goodes & LRT. No other choices.
Hall starting in ruck will create a mismatch with Cox obviously, and I can only hope he's got the aerobic capacity to run around for most of the day. I don't understimate Cox though - he's good, tall & mobile.
We are massively undersized. This was always gonna happen without our three ruckmen playing. The possibility is that Cox & Gardiner will tear us a new one whatever we do.
NOG to effectively pick up Judd but play a Willo role - let him attack. Alt, put Kennelly on Judd (he's a bit taller, but of course hasn't got the Judd smarts) and let Judd lead him to the ball. Not tag, but to do a Kirk of 2003.
Let our game plan to run like the bejeezers. Small forward line. Pack them at the HF & HB line, no further. Isolate Rhino for the lead. Let Ablett, Kennelly, Davis and Schneider kick them from 50 if they're clear (I'm not a huge rap for Schneids disposal but he's got some flair so we may as well use it).

Christ I dunno. We need to do something! Without the talls we need to try something new. (Actually, WITH the talls we need to try something new!!)

There's no chance that Hall will become our ruckman. Firstly he won't have the aerobic capacity to run around and secondly he's our focal point in attack. He'll do the ruckwork around our forward 50 but that should be the extent of it.

Plus he's not really tall enough.
However, he IS pretty strong, he DOES run alot, he IS intimidating, it MAY put an offensive spur into our on-ballers, it (probably) WILL cause an Eagles rethink and we MUST try something. Even for the first 10 mins of each quarter.

It's not an ongoing thing - it's for Sat night only.

Well, I think we might only try that if Goodes and LRT go down. Having said that, I do remember Plugger going into the ruck in one of his first games for us when we were getting flogged and he couldn't get his hands on the ball.

I don't know whether bringing in new blood for the match against the weagles but I know that Moore is a thumping kick from centre clearances but don't think Roosy would put a young guy in against Judd and his chronies.I think McVeigh could run with Judd.I read (or heard, can't remember) where Roosy thinks that Schneider has a mental problem with trusting his hamstring and that is holding him back from the form he showed in 2002.We cannot afford to carry players.
