Can we get him from Brisbane? How long is his contract?
Thats where the problem lies. Since cressa left we have gone backwards in the midfield. he could have added more after his retirement. When he left the club i was soo pee'd off that we let him leave like he did.
Now we have a proven dud who is there on the basis of being a good mate of the coach. He is a proven DUD ROOS...GET RID OF HIM!!!
Yet i cannot see lyons leave anytime soon. It's not Mr Roos style to sack mates.

Absolutely agree, but it was probably good for Cressa himself to get out of the Swans environment and see what the lie of the land was like at other clubs.
Cressa was fantastic for us:
- Good mark for his size;
- Found space but could defend;
- Good kick for goal / pretty good disposal.
- Tough. Goodness me he was tough. Kneecap anybody? (Didn't say it was smart - he could've straightened his legg FFS which would have made it easier - but by golly he was tough.)

I reckon he'd come back to Sydney if / when the time is right and a place is found for him. The passion with which he spoke about the club at the post-match he attended a year ago indicated that his heart is still here - and he didn't need to attend and say what he did. He was a Geelong assistant at the time.
I reckon a year at Geelong, a year at the Lions and he would be ready to come back. He'll bring experience of working with two clubs at very different stages in their development cycle and under two very different senior coaches. He'll be distanced enough from the squad to be able to relate to them as coach / players but recently-retired enough to still remember what players respond to and what their frustrations are.

If we paid for a new wife in Sydney that wouldn't count in the salary cap, would it? I wonder whether he'd be interested. Surely there are some good lookin' chicks in Sydney that'd be up for it?

I wonder after looking at the ladder if the Lions are saying the same thing about sacking Cresswell!!!
As much as I love Cressa and I do love everything he did at the club I believe you cannot simply fault Lyon only for the way the midfield is performing - 2 points to consider
1. Lack of genuine talent (overall that is not individually)
2. Game Plan (based on defensive style). This is not simply Lyon's doing.

Well he is the midfield coach and we have gone backwards since malaxos left.
I've heard recent scuttlebutt suggesting Malaxos is unhappy at the Eagles. Maybe it's too dull coaching Judd, Cousins et al. If he wants a real challenge sure the Swans can provide one.

Malaxos is at the Dockers
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
