    Rd 6 Teams

    From http://sydneyswans.com.au/default.as...ticleid=199318

    WEST COAST
    B: Chick, Glass, B.Jones
    HB: Banfield, Hunter, Stenglein
    C: Wirrpunda, Cousins, Braun
    HF: Embley, Hansen, Sampi
    F: Matera, Lynch, Seaby
    FOLL: Cox, Judd, Fletcher
    I/C: Adkins, Butler, Gardiner, Selwood
    EMG: Graham, McConnell, Nicoski
    NO CHANGE

    SYDNEY
    B: Crouch, Bolton, Dempster
    HB: Barry, Roberts-Thomson, Kennelly
    C: Nicks, Maxfield, Ablett
    HF: O?Keefe, Goodes, Bevan
    F: Spriggs, Hall, O?Loughlin
    FOLL: Jolly, Kirk, Bolton
    I/C: Buchanan, Davis, McVeigh, Schneider
    EMG: Malceski, Moore, Schauble
    IN: Maxfield,
    OUT: Mathews

Would imagine Schauble will come in if Jolly's appeal doesn't get him off for this game.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Very interesting to see Nick Davis named on the bench. What does it say about his standing when there is no Williams, Matthews, Ball, Doyle, Jolly (most likely) etc. and Nick is still named on the bench?

Is there a subtle message there?

Davis starting on the bench is a bit puzzling, even more so if come Saturday night he actually starts on the bench.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

So basically unless Jolly doesn't get off his charge, we have made just the ONE change to a side that is full of under-performing players and in need of some fresh blood. Gee way to make the kids out of the side think they have a shot of making the side. If I was Josh Willoughby at the moment, I would be think the senior side is a boys own club that you need some sort of membership to brake into.

Roosy is certainly making a name for himself with his brave coaching decisions.

It seems the only way you miss out on the side is if your are injured, suspended or actually show some talent like McVeigh.

Maybe a trip to Subiaco isn't the time to make major changes but surely a few changes to jolt some of these players out of complacency was called for.

So if Jolly remains suspended, who will come in for him.

Assuming it will be wet as well.

I would have liked to have seen

                    SYDNEY

                    B: Crouch, Bolton, Dempster
                    HB: Barry, Goodes, Bevan
                    C: Kennelly, Ablett, Spriggs
                    HF: O?Keefe, Hall, Davis
                    F: Schneider, O?Loughlin, McVeigh
                    FOLL: Jolly, Kirk, Bolton
                    I/C: Moore, Nicks, Maxfield, Schauble
                    EMG: Malceski, Buchanan,
                    IN: Maxfield,
                    OUT: Mathews
                    DELISTED: Roberts-Thomson

Actually, doing this exercise was quite hard and just illustrated to me how we have too many smaller running players and too few talls. I only named two emergencies, because I struggled to think of another person who deserved the gig.

Well logic would say Schauble, but there seems to be no logic used in selecting the team (ie make one change which is injury-enforced after 2 totally insipid performances) so who knows who will come in if Jolly's appeal fails?

As mentioned in other threads here the positions listed rarely resemble how the team lines up. Davis may start on the bench but that bench time could be < 1 min. like LRT last week.

Let's bring in Moore so our midgets can run in circles around their tall giants.

I'd rather see a new midget than one of the tired older failing midgets.

Just another staggering move by the club in a week full of staggering moves.

I still cant see why they bothered appealing Jolly's ban. We're no chance of beating the Eagles, and with Jolly out next week, we are gonna struggle for talls against the Bombers, even if Ball is fit to come back. You need more than just 1 proper ruckman in the team.

Bevan has bee absolutely shocking this year, yet he is rewarded by promotion from the bench (albeit in just the side on paper, but it still is something, especially when it seems to make sense to have Davis on the HFF instead).

I would put money on the fact that we dont see Kennelly play in the midfield on Saturday night, despite Roos saying otherwise, based on how everything else seems to be going.

I'm getting a little sick of all this crap from my club. I want to see some hard decisions.
