Fevola gets 2 weeks for a attempted eye gouge and Jolly gets 2 weeks for barely making contact (if at all), what the hell are they smoking at the tribunal

That's the thing that makes it all seem so ridiculous - Fevola and Scotland get 2 weeks for eye gouging, and Jolly barely makes contact and gets the same penalty. And then on top of that Hird gets nothing for charging.

If the new system was designed to bring in consistency on suspensions, it's failing miserably!

I doubt that, I can't see LRT staying on the field the whole time just to take the centre bounces, and he really has no one else except Hall to take those centre bounces (this is where Saddo might have been handy)

But is there a rule that you must contest the tap? I recall that Goodes has been very effective at times in the past not contesting the tap and staying down as an extra onballer.

There was the celebrated case of Garry Hocking telling all his Peel Thunder players to stand in the defensive 50 and hence conceding the centre bounce. So I guess the answer is no.

There is a difference though between Goodes not contesting some taps and not contesting all taps.

I'm glad Goodes is going to take the rucking duties at Subiaco as I had the hilarious image of him running around the SCG winning every tap and noone at the ground. That 3rd bottle of champagne is one too many!!!!!
