Liz... is it just you and I who see how Wirrpunda controls games? He is sublime to watch both in the flesh and the brief glimpses on T.V. (in the non biblical sense). He epitomises all that is good to watch in Aussie rules footy.

Its pretty good... except for the score diff prediction. It will rain, and there is no way we'll let it blow out that far. No more than three goals at the most.

Why will we let it not blow out that far? Just because of the rain?

Ever been to Subi when it has been raining, first of all it never rains for long, second of all Subi drains really well and the WAFC has spent thousands re doing the surface after the wounded knee saga.

Comments like "Sydney suck" and the general negativity around the place. Its very annoying to those of us who have empathy for the team, and try to remain optimistic.

Wirripunda has sublime skills and fabulous pace. Should be Sydney sucks anyway if we're being grammatically correct one would say.

I believe the prediction of a large margin is not unrealistic. Last year, our worst week for injuries coincided with a trip to Football Park to play the Power. We lost by 12 goals.

Now, when we are hit by injury and suspension, we travel to Subiaco to play West Coast. Do not be surprised if history repeats.

On the other hand, we travelled to Football Park in 2003 to play the Power when we were ravaged by injury. We won that one. We would all be celebrating if this version of history was repeated.

I believe the following will happen: It will rain once during the match, but the rain won't affect the outcome of the match as much as we hoped. Our depleted rucking will be below average, but LRT will perform okay in the middle. We play better than expected but we still lose by 5 to 6 goals.

Anything better than a 30-point loss will be a good effort under the circumstances. Brisbane lost to the Eagles by 13 goals at home last week!

Of course, I would rather see a win, but logic suggests it is unlikely.

Because we will play Goodes in the ruck and create an advantage against the slower WC ruckmen. He wont win every contest, but win enough to give us a break-even in the ruck and a steady flow to the forward line.

Because the forwards will kick a lot straighter. We have had enough opportunities to score over the past five rounds, and conversion has been the major factor in the large margins.

Because Schauble is back and will muster the defence a lot better. Our backline is suddenly more even and experienced than their forwards, and IMO has more talent.

Because Subi will suit our forward line more, and prevent us from employing the tactics we have tried at home that have made it harder for us to score.

Its not blind... I concede we will more than likely lose. I rate us at 10% to win. But even the most ardent critics doing their (formal) reviews elsewhere only give us a 40point margin. Predicting a 10+ goal loss shows a distinct lack of faith in the players, and is frankly insulting, even if it is the truth at the end of the day.

Blind pessimism serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever to the team or other supporters.

Purpose? There is a purpose? Sorry, I thought this was a forum where people with a Swans orientated interest in AFL threw around ideas and opinions, and shared their grief. I did not realise that our posts had a purpose. I will be more purposeful in future. I will say things like I think we have 10% less or winning but I am optimistic not like all the pessimists that think we will lose. And I will premise my optimism on carefully considered opinions such as 'we will kick straighter' this week, or 'we will play better on a large ground because we can no longer play well on our home ground, the same ground which gave us such incredible advantage for so long due to its unusual dimensions'. I will serve a purpose. Or did you mean to say "porpoise"? Because that would make about as much sense. Really, do you think we serve a purpose, other than perhaps mild entertainment for the bored and lonely, and the handful of players that probably visit and have a good old giggle.
