Can we beat the Bombers ??

Wow - imagine if we can't even beat the Bombers at the lowest ebb of their recent history !!

I wouldn't be surprised to see essendon get up, they have some talented young players who they give lots of time to - Unlike the Swans Coaching Dept, Sheedy and company are backing there young blokes to get out and have a real crack for long periods in every 1/4.

The Swans coaches bench a young guy as soon as he shows something.

Go Essendon- one more nail in the Paul Roos coffin.

    There's a surprise.Footyhead cheering against the Swans.
We are going through a bad patch and FH couldn't be happier.
Gloating and carrying on like the most one eyed opposition supporter.
    Pretty sickening stuff.

We should beat the Bombers next week we have 2 games coming up where the opposition is probably playing even worse than us.I know where terrible but the Bombers are even worse and then we play the reigning premiers Port Adelaide who have just one win.
If we can't win at least one out of our next 2 then I think wer'e destined for a season of misery.

And priority picks. At least this time we'll be likely to keep the players we draft early. (A.Rocca, Gaspar, S.Grant - bleh)

If Ball is back then we might be a chance but the Bombers have some pretty handy talls in Bradley (if he plays) and Laycock.

I think it was be an ugly scrap but with the Swans would else would you expect??

Just hope we select the right players as well and don't waste our picks.

My dad doesn't think we will win any game at all at this stage.

Unfortunatly just a confidence thing with Sydney at the moment, If its being stifled by the gameplan of Roos, or not carrying out the gameplan I am not sure.
To me the most important thing at this stage is to get 4 points and get the confidence back in the players, then maybe we will see the open free flowing football

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Hird is out, that's' a huge bonus for the Swans.

I don't want to win - we can only win 3 more games if we want a priority pick which is much more beneficial than feeling good after the odd win. Also if we win the club will become complacent again and long term things will never improve. We desperately need a couple of years of high picks to improve. We are no-where near winning a flag so let's take the next best and most rewarded position - last.

I'm totally against going out to purposely lose. If the club took that approach, I'd rip up my membership. If we play to win, and still lose and then get draft picks because of it, then so be it, but to purposely lose to gain the benefit is, to me, akin to match fixing.....so if they did that, I'd even go so far as to say throw them in jail for it.

                            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Tanking games is NOT acceptable. As Mike said, there's a very real difference between losing because we're not good enough, and losing because we want to lose.

Priority picks are supposed to be a consolation, not a reward.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
