I can't choose between Schaubs and Nicky D.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It is tempting, he would give a cheeky change to boring old captain interviews.
Schaubs doing the captain interview rounds is an attractive proposition as well though.

                  No Goodes?

He'd be my pick next season if he can put together a strong year onfield this year.

                    That really is an oops

Mods, swap Dempster for Goodes, quick, before it is too late

A few weeks ago I would have said Barry Hall, but I've changed my mind to Kirk. I've had Hall as my Dream Team captain for a weeks - what a disappointment!

                          Where's Captain Development?
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

Hey I had to go out and had about a minute to post. If I'd written about a development in the captaincy situation I'd sound like a public service EO brochure. Anyway, I think captain development is whoever gets picked.

I'll be interested to see who it is. I somehow don't think Baz has the self discipline yet. I'd love it to be Adam but I think it may wreck his game. I'd also like Jude but think it may not help his development. Brett will be good and I don't think it'll effect his game. But it'll be sincerity overdose between Roos and the Captain. Schauble is the other half of the leadership but I don't think he'd be the step forward we need right now.

And I hope we'll see a Stewie rebirth. Crawford was not a good player as captain but he's magic now he's passed the baton. No reason why Stewie can't do the same.

Two types of Captains I think.

Type 1 : Brilliantly skilled player, has the potential to lift a side by doing something exceptional with the footy, kick a goal when you need it the most, etc. (potentially Goodes, Hall)

Type 2 : Inspirational player, less skilled but will lift the team by putting his body on the line week after week. (Kirk, Kelly)

I still tend to favour the latter as Captain as we simply don't have enough of the former to be putting extra pressure on them with the captaincy to perform.
