IMO what we need is a leader, a vocal leader and one who can inspire both on the field and off.
So only the club really knows who best fits that description, and I dare say that KIRK already has the title wrapped up given that he is the caretaker.

That is quite a good point and Nick does certainly fit the bill from that respect. He also appears to be directing traffic at stoppages (not that it is working of course), good to see him yabbering away. I could picture Nick at first slip chewing Gilchrist's ear off all day.
