Essendon finished the half stronger, used the ball better than Sydney going forward.
Swans defintely have improved, skills errors still proving costly.
Essendon's straight kicking sees them up by 11 points at the main break.

    Essendon 10.1 61
    Sydney 7 .8 50

It's good to see we're playing more open footy and giving ourselves a chance to kick goals. Lucky Essendon are crap though otherwise the game would be nearly over.

O'Keefe needs to contest with McPhee - not let him get the ride over the pack.

MOL needs to lead more - Zantuck is too strong.

Need to get LRT off Lucas.

Kirk dominating - leading possession getter (19) and stopping J Johnson (4).

Saddo able to find the ball pretty well, but kicks like most Swans...

McPhee and LRT are Killing us

LRT's kick was shocking, but then his follow up efforts against multiple opponents almost resulted in a goal.

I thought the Bombers played some good footy in the second half of that quarter.

Some magnificient high marking from McPhee and McVeigh - Lloyd's accuracy could be worrying.

LRT tries his guts out, but his ability to think on his feet is his downfall.
He did so well with all this follow up efforts.

They did play some good football, but they also played some terrible football at times and made some horrible clangers. Remember we are playing a team that is widely expected to finish bottom 4 and we're at home.

It's not a great performance by us thus far.

No not a great performace but considering how 'ugly' our style has been labelled, 50 points in a half with three posters and inaccuracy is a step in right direction.
15 scoring shots isnt too bad.

I think Essendon are better than a bottom 4 team.

Big difference is they are kicking accurately from 50, we aren't

Four times so far Blight has called for Kennelly to go onto the wing - I hope Roos is listening to the TV commentary...

                              goal to Laycock.

Entry in to F50 is ordinary.
