I just cant believe that one day Ben Mathews resume will read: Once captain of the Sydney Swans AFL Club...
      - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

How the hell can they include Mathews, he doesn,t even deserve to be in the side.

Clearly the leadership group could not between them, make a decision.

So I recommend the leadership group form several sub-commitees to investigate alternatives and then report back to each other and then take a vote.

Alternatively, Roos can send them on a study trip abroad - they can go to Rome to find out how the Vatican elected Benedict XVI.

The 'leadership group' can then lock themselves in a room to blow smoke up each other's arses for 3 days until the new leader is elected. When the decision is made, they can collectively blow the smoke out of a small chimney at the SCG to signal to the waiting faithful below that the momentus decision has been made.

Another bizarre event in an increasingly bizarre season.

He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I reckon this could be a catalyst for a good run of victories.
So why not make all 38 players on the list potential captains - how good would our team be then...

                    Yes.

Why not Heath James. An inspiration to all. Metonymic of the Swan's overall. Give Heath a chance, at least for a week. Maybe the week before we play the Pies?

Does this mean because the rest of 2005 is being used as an audition for the captainancy we can write off the season as being nothing more than a dress rehearsal for "bigger and better years"?

Because I would love to see the bitch fight between the 6 of them to see who would captain the Grand Final team this year. (Not suggesting we are at that level, just making a point!)

Geez, put Kirk as captain, get on with the season and make a longer term decision over the off season.

Agreed - he's been captain at least once - when we played Carlton and we won that match

But reading the article on the Swans site, it states that he and Jason Ball turned down the chance to be part of the group because of the fact they both have one or two years left in them and rather the club give a chance to someone who will be here long after they retire.

As for my pick for Captain, I said it many years ago and I'll say it now - Jude Bolton for captain.
                            Once was, now elsewhere

I agree with Willo in that there isn't really a point, fact is that the Hall and Kirk are likely to be next in line and after that maybe it'll be the Bolton and Goodes's turn to lead the team
                              Come on Magic!

                                This club is a joke.

                                Ben Matthews (C)

What a pathetic joke from a club that now resembles a circus.

Go away Paul roos, just go away. You are doing nothing pro active for the club at the moment.
