    weird game. Extremely weird....
Goldspink is a wanker. nuff said.

And is it me or did it feel like Port were playing to lose the game? They were just as bad as us with their short chippy kicks..

Schneider was excellent in the reserves and kicked a bag (5 or 6). We thumped Belconnen.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Did they show fresh legs at 3/4 time? How many minutes did Vogels and McVeigh have?

Did indeed ROK Lobster! Played the best I have seen in quite some time. Seems that his confidence is back and that he is running with great pace and his kicking is accurate.

Apart from Schneider, Grundy had another solid match as did Willougby. Nicks was the usual - nothing spectacular.

One player that caught my eye was Eriksen - gosh hes tall! Played well in the center clearances and got the ball going forward.
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

Another scrappy win, but Port have alot to answer to for making the game such a boring one with their chipping around inside their own 50. At least we tried to move the ball quickly, but we were let down again by our skills. We were lucky that it didn't come back to bite us. We will need to play much better again next week to beat the Dogs.

            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

McVeigh was truly awful, Barry was great. Schauble doesn't inspire me but reads the game well. MOL might have had tight hammies or something because he either wasn't confident of his penetration or wouldn't kick properly through the ball. Jolly's mark was a highlight.

Anyone here who thought LRT had a bad game clearly wasnt at the ground. His opponent (I think Thurstans) probably only out-marked him once. Very rarely does LRT get out-marked. His attack on the ball was really impressive. His best game this year (but, yes, there is still plenty of room for improvement).

Just got back from the game...

                  * The Swan's pressure on the ball carrier and stiffling the Port run from defence was terrific!

                  * The umpiring was absolutely abismal...Goldspink...need we say more. A third of Port's goals (2) came from shocking umpiring decisions, so therefore the umpires were Port's only multiple goal kicker for the game!

                  * Unfortunately for McVeigh, once again he could not step up in the seniors...a real shame. He had better game time today but struggled.

                  * MOL, Schauble, Kennelly showing improvement from previous games.

                  * Moore and Vogels look good. Moore's vision and disposal today was fantastic!

                  * Jude Bolton supurb, Leo Barry keeping Treadrea goaless was outstanding and Goodes stepped up in the last quarter (as did Hall) when we needed them.

                  * Our goal kicking accuracy is a real worry! We should have won by 40+ today.

                  * The only way to stop flooding and low scoring games is for the AFL to bring in a bonus point rule for sides that kick over 20 goals in a game.

                  * HUUUUUGE 8 point game against the doggies next week!

All in all a gutsy, scrapping win...well done lads!!

It looked that way on the tele too. Actually got his hands on the ball a few times and disposed of it pretty well as well as getting the ball to ground a bit. Does seem to get himself under the flight of the ball occasionally but other than that I thought he looked a lot better today.

That went under the radar - geez he did a fantastic job on Treadrae then! Kenelly's run off half back was supurb!

Though ROK was strong again today, Hall had patches, so did Ablett.

Drawing any sort of form-line out of today?s second?s match is meaningless. Schneider (6 goals) and Nicks (4 goals and a gazillion assists) both had blinders, yet they are currently (deservedly) fringe players for senior selection. My local pub darts team would have tested those players better than Belconnen did today.

I hope Treadrea gets on the phone and tells everyone how many goals he kicked today

Yeah I noticed that too. He seemed almost too eager in his attack on the ball when going for a mark, and I think his inexperience was shown with the wind carrying the ball over his head a few times. It was amazing watching how hard he was pushing himself to get to some marking contests.

But he wasnt the only guy out there that got caught under the flight of the ball. ROK got caught out at one stage in the D50.

Bloke on the bus on the way home asked me how the Swans went. Told him they were horrid - but luckily the opposition was much worse.

Not a great display but good endeavour all around. We were definitely the better team out there and if anyone deserved the points it was us.

I wonder if the wind had more effect than I was giving it credit for at the time. Sitting up in the stand it didn't feel too strong and the flags on top of the members stand were fluttering rather than straining. But towards the end of the game Lade had a set shot at goal for which we were on the perfect angle. It was a very good kick off the boot and looked to be slicing the goals in half before suddenly veering off and missing.

It was windy and cold for the entire match up the top of the Noble Stand, so I was pretty sure the wind was having an impact throughout the game.

For those of you that watched on TV, were the commentators saying anything about the wind?
