    Leo barry outstanding.

Mcveigh saw nothing of it, shame really

MOL - he has gotten into the habit of handballing off to a man on the run when he should be within range, if indeed, his hammy is doubtful, then he shouldnt be played. its frustrating to watch him handball to a player under pressure.
Amusing to see him kick to ablett, who without a run up almost snapped it from the 50m arc - im sure he looked at MOL afterwards and wondered why he found ti so difficult.

With Ball coming back next weekend (i assume), i wonder who will go. Im guessing Vogels, which is unfortunate, unless McVeigh can be dropped for Ball, but that may leave a hole in the mids.
Jolly was a stand out - having an effective ruckman makes a huge difference.
    Saddo seemed very quiet.

A bit, but how would they know, in the air conditioned comfort of the stands.

My local pub darts team would have tested those players better than Belconnen did today.
Which is a bit of a worry given that Belconnen are meant to be the best other team in the competition. Despite the ease of the win, it was a pretty even performance by the twos and I didn't think anyone really stood out (admittedly I missed the first quarter where they kicked 8 goals).

Nicks was cruising but clearly a cut above. Schneider was very good in patches and seemed to be concentrating hard on his set kicking for goal (with good results). Sundqvist and Malceski both looked good in the second and third quarters. Didn't see Sunny in the final term (on the bench?) while Malceski looked a little tired and made some silly errors as a result.

Potter went off sometime in the middle of the game with what looked like a shoulder or arm injury and didn't come back.

Thought the defence was pretty ordinary in that they made some basic errors that led to Magpie goals. It didn't matter much since the Swans were mostly dominating in the midfield but I guess you're looking for the defenders not to make dumb mistakes in the few times they get the ball. Campbell, in particular, looks a long way away from AFL level.

Neither Willoughby nor Schmidt starred but both did some clever things with the ball when they got it. Both will play senior football.

Powell was the other one who caught my eye - and I'm not a Powell fan. He presented well in the forward line and marked strongly, though let himself down with some mixed kicking for goal.

Good to get a win and good pressure through the day. Very ordinary game though - not one for the highlight tape (yet again!). Both sides had terrible disposal and fairly dysfunctional forward lines. We still have an awful lot way to go. Let's see how we go against a team playing decent football (as we're yet to beat one yet) - 'Dogs game next week will be very interesting.

As for umpiring, sure it was bad, but it was bad both ways.

Yep. I have to say he does put his head over the ball and seems to have few thoughts of self preservation.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Agree! You cannot question his ability to win the ball and hardness at it but his disposal lets him down terribly.

Sounds like Jude Bolton a couple of years back, now look at him!

Spriggs was an excellent ball winner today, but sadly his kicking was at the same level as last week.

The game was impressive, although I tipped Port. I didn't think we had a strong chance at winning today but I guess I was wrong. We never let them get in front did we? Jolly took a magnificent mark and when some PA player elbowed Schauble in the (was it) nuts? - That seemed painful but funny. When Saddo went to mark the ball somewhere near the 50m line, it was so out on the full, it was right in front of the umpires eyes and the ump disgareed, he really should've seen the replay!

I thought that Mr Hatley was going to jump on the ground and nipple cripple the umpire after that decision!

I wouldn't mind him in a forward pocket. Picks the ball up soooooooo cleanly and runs through packs with ease... love to have O'Loughlin, Davis or Williams waiting for a handball. I apprecaite that suggesting a player so hounded for his kicking should be a forward might seem stupid, but I sat watching him intently at training and most of his poor disposal was short or over the head, it didn't seem to be to the side too much.

I wouldn't mind never ever seeing David Spriggs in Swans colours again.

The guy is a hack, please please please people , stop pinning for the absent skills these kinds of players never have had.

I and others told you about him before he arrived, but you would not listen.

Please stop flogging the dead horse before it infects the whole team.

As a matter of fact that might explain the teams innacurate kicking for goal!!!
