Bevan and Buchanan must be counting themselves pretty lucky while Schaubs must wonder where his next run will come from - can't see them playing him against Carlton if they won't play him on Gehrig because Whitnall has been playing at the defensive end a fair bit.
Hopefully Schneider can replicate some of the form from the 2's, and hopefully Roos will leave him in the forward pocket to do what he did so well in 2003 - kick opportunistic goals!
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I'm very suprised about saddos dropping. Looking back against the game with the Doggies, he seemed to be a prominant target kicking to the middle and from there laying a handball off to our linkman. He seemed to do it very effectively.

i think its a great sign of the competition that we have going on for places ATM. agree dropping Saddington was a little harsh but I'm excited to see how schneider plays
Ball for Saddington makes more sense than Ball for Dempster. I don't quite get why Dempster is out. I would of thought Buchanan would make way for Williams.
I've said once and I'll say it again, you can't play Buchanan and Schneider together in the seniors, they just don't provide enough from the midfield for them both to be in the side and you don't need more than one of them to play as the forward pocket. On form Buchanan should of been dropped for Schneider, not Moore and Bevan should of been dropped not Dempster.
Throws the team balance of the past three weeks out the window and now with Saddo dropped and Schauble again left out of the side we have no real back up other than LRT and Goodes (god no) if Craig Bolton and Leo Barry fail to control Reiwoldt and Gehrig early in the match and we need to make changes. Talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I would of made the following changes just so we have some balance thoughout the team.
Definately think its tough dropping saddo and dempster at the expense of LRT. I know he's improved slightly but his position seems never under threat !
Dempster and Moore out. Fair enough. They are young, they have had a taste of it. Both have shown enough to show that they will be back. Williams and Ball had to come in. If Schneider has given the 2's a shake he has to come back too.
Things don't look good for Saddo. They look better for Vogels. Bevan is very lucky and Buchanon is too, though to a lesser degree.
As for Schaubs and LRT the situation makes some sort of sense. I doubt that there are many here who would suggest that LRT > Schauble (not without their tongues firmly in their cheek anyway). But if LRT is going to improve (and I still say it is a pretty big "if") it will only happen in the seniors. The season is not on the line, he is not losing us games, he may as well be left there at this stage. Schauble on the other hand probably has not got much development left. He is less likely to get injured in the 2's, will keep a bit of match fitness up, and should be strong and raring to go when injuries and fatigue take their toll on others (both ours and theirs) as the business end approaches. He certainly wont go backwards playing there. I reckon the backs in the 2's would be learning a fair bit from he as well, which can only be a good thing. Well that's how I'm choosing to make sense of it. Wonder if stell will travel to Wagga Wagga this week to see his beloved run 'round.
