    LRT v Schauble

On my way to work this morning, I was studying the Swans and Saints teams in the SMH, in particular our backline v the Saints forward line. I just cannot understand why LRT was selected ahead of Schauble.

The idea of LRT playing on Riewoldt fills me with dread. And surely if Schauble were playing on Gehrig, it would allow Leo to play on Riewoldt and give us more run out of half forward?

So what looks like a better match up to to you? Time for a poll.

I know. That to me is the problem.

For all his peck-decking Gehrig is most effective on the lead, his wrestling tends to be plan B,C,D,E. I doubt that Schauble could keep up with either Fraser on Nick. If LRT plays on the latter it realy will be one hell of a test. Although without Hammill, it means B2 is plan B.

Leo on Gehrig, B2 on Riewoldt, LRT on Ackland/Blake.

I'm not particularly happy about Schauble missing out either - even if he doesn't have an obvious match up we should still pick our best defender. I'm assuming that there is a good reason for it - just not sure what it is.

Even if Schauble started on the bench instead of one of the hobbits (Bevan, Buchanan, Schneider). At least then if LRT was getting slaughtered, they could bring Schauble on.

If the club really is playing horses-for-courses with Schauble (which I can't quite believe they are), he's in big trouble. If he isn't a required player when we're playing a team with two key forwards the calibre of Riewoldt and Gehrig, I'm not sure that he'll be on the list next year.
              We hate Anthony Rocca
              We hate Shannon Grant too
              We hate scumbag Gaspar
              But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

I think from the inclusion of Ball, Jolly, Goodes, Vogels and Hall that we will try to strech their backline for height (Penny is out). In which case Blake will be needed down back, perhaps to try to do-over Adam Goodes again. Ackland will need to ruck all day (except when/if Goodsey goes into the ruck) against Jolly & Ball.

I was just about to post something similar. Either he's carrying an injury or his AFL career looks terminal.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

He seemed fine in the reserves.

I like sean's option. My first thought wa b2 on Riewoldt.

There is not point whining abt schauble not being in the team. Deal with it.

I wish Roos would put LRT on Riewoldt or Gehrig all day so we can see where he is actually at (but at half time it will probably be obvious enough that he can be moved), but more likely he'll spend the first minute on one of them and then be moved to Ball Chaser, Pack Skirter or Ignored Lead where it is impossible to judge his performance.

Then there's no "point" in much of what is posted on RWO. Its a forum to enable anyone to express their opinions. You deal with that.

Fine, but I'm sure if LRT has 20 kicks, 15 handballs took two speccies, lots of other marks and kept Reiwoldt to one goal, but had 2 clangers, you be calling for his head.
