Next on the captaincy roster - Barry Hall

This according to Ch 10 news.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I wonder how this will go.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

well i hope. the extra focus upon him may straighten us up, playing more direct footy.

        fingers crossed.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

I reckon he will get 3 brownlow votes this week, kick 8 goals, the team kicks 25 goals including 4 Schnieder crumbing goals and the umpiring is sensational...

            Wake me up now!

In seriousness I think Barry will lead the team well...good luck!

This could either be really, really good or really, really bad.

I love this quote of Barry Hall's in the SMH breaking news of his impending leading of the Swans.

Hall said: "I'm pretty excited and very honoured. I've never been a captain, ever, even in junior days."

Never been a captain, well Barry your first instruction to the team should be..."Kick it long, kick it straight down the middle and kick it to me"!

                Here is the link...

I think this comment says alot
Hall said it was bad for morale when a teammate looked to pass rather than show enough confidence to take the shot for goal inside the 50-metre circle.

Matt you must have missed this bit in the article
Hall joked the best way forward for the Swans was to simply kick long to the skipper.

God I hate this rotation policy. Kirk did an ok job, but Leo Barry had too tough games with the expectation of 3 wins and "ugly" comments on him as well. It was too much.

Now that everyone's written off the swans, the pressure is off Hall a bit.

How can they possibly pick one at the end of the year abjectively.

If..... Sydney had a 2nd team, and Matthews ran out as captain, I'd be over to BlueAndWhiteOnline.com for good.

I don't think there's any extra pressure on Barry. He has two games to prove himself - full stop.

On the one hand I agree with you, it's almost as if Roosy is trying to top Grant Thomas's captaincy rotation.

While I expected Kirk and Bolton to lead well, Leo and Barry to do less well, and fear it may be a little too much for Ben Matthews I have no idea about Adam Goodes and I will be enormously interested to see what happens when it's his turn.
Perhaps, just perhaps, the job could cause him to grow ~ much as I think it did Paul Kelly.

Why? What else do you suggest we do to seek captain material? Huh?

Possible ways of choosing the captain:
                              • Send them to tribal council.
                              • Put them in the Big Brother house and nominate all of them for eviction.
                              • Karaoke night.
                              • Swimsuit competition.
                              • Have them skipper identical yachts in the Sydney to Hobart.
                              • Chess tournament.
