Roos on 2ue last night made an interesting comment in regards to the commentary last Saturday night.
Bruce McAvaney had a knack of calling a game and made it interesting even if it wasn't because he was thinking of the viewers and how they perceived the telecast I think?
    Love those Swans

Remember though that Bruce is a broadcaster who calls all kinds of sport. Walls is an ex-player and coach who is there to be the "expert" commentator. There is a big difference between their backgrounds as well as their role in calling a game.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

        RE: Newman on MMM

I wonder if Walls has been counselled.
        I agree with there action.

Commentary on the game should not extend into comentary on the STATE of the game in general. Particularly if its negative.

This is obviously different after the match is over. Post-match or current affairs analysis is fine.

By on Saturday I not only had to watch my team cough up a pretty pathetic loss, but get kicked while I was down by a commentator who admits he doesn't watch many of our games.

I also notice that Gerard Healy was very quiet on The Couch as the two "experts" in Walls and Sheehan had their rants.
