Agree. This is basically an extension of me wanting to see players given a chance to own their positions.

Get picked and play at least an hour, hopefully in the same position, and know that you have an opportunity to prove yourself against a few different teams and strategies.

There has been glimpses of Schnied's run and confidence coming back. I felt for him last Saturday night when he took off near the centre, had a bounce which got stuck in the TD surface and the ball turned over to Xavier Clarke who luckily (makes no diif. now though) missed the shot.

A little snippet of Schnied's season...close but one foul bounce and you're back to the ressies.

Amen. Enough of the roundabout at the interchange bench. these guys are professional athletes and should be able to run hard for an extended period of time. Let them, especially the super-fit ones (McVeigh), get settled in one spot, be it forward line, centre square set up, defense, etc, etc, for a decent amount of time, and only move them around during that time if matchups could be improved.

            HB: Mathews, Roberts-Thomson, Kennelly
            C: McVeigh, Ablett, Crouch

            I/C: Ball, Malceski, Spriggs, Vogels

            * Interesting that both McVeigh and Crouch have been named on the wing.
            * The foward line looks strong, lets just hope the ball gets down there more than 29 times.
            * Looks a good balanced interchange bench.

            Any other thoughts?
            Cheers,

That taking a named line-up as a reflection of how they will actually start the game means nothing. Schauble at BP and Barry at FB??? Mathews on a HBF??? I find it unlikely they will start the game like that.

              Hooray - Schauble's back!!

My patience has run out with Schneider so I'm not sorry to see him dropped.

Spriggs back is dissappointing but am prepared to give him one last chance. Like others here, I would have preferred to see Moore back in the side.

              I hope Davis fires!

Glad to see Schauble back - apart from his own matchup he's important as a back six general, something that might be of particular value to LRT.
And I wish they'd play Schneider as a crumbing forward with the occasional foray into the midfield; it irritates the life out of me to see forwards doing their best and no-one picking up the spills.
And congrats to Malceski - hope he has a blinder of a debut.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Has anyone considered that maybe Roos is applying a rotational policy of sorts??

People have complained that McV got dropped when he was playing ok, yet Bevan and Monty have been persisted with despite form. Now Bevan has been dropped even though he has played better the last two weeks than any time before this year. And Moore and Dempster miss out, whilst Spriggs and Malceski get their chance.

I have a feeling that there is far more to who gets "dropped" and elevated each week than purely form. The changes to date have demonstrated that.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Maybe Schneider has been dropped because he's soft, doesn't chase or harass nearly enough (apart from chasing/running alongside opponents), only gets a kick when team's well on top and crucially can only kick one side (left).

Stop giving the same guys who keep stuffing up numerous chances just because they have more experience!!! This insistence of picking teams on reputation and not form has to stop!!!
Absoloutly. One of the single biggest problems facing the team I think. Started in the days of Eade, Plugger and Kelly. With that team of stars you sort of got away with it (though I still think the kids developed a complex, rather than actualy thought they were a legit part of the team).

We can't get away with picking the team on reputation any more- every one should be under the pump every week to earn their spot- everyone except Micky O, cos he can't really train.

                          Its pathetic really.
They bring people up for seniors - they feel they have to do something special to stay there and then when it doesnt come off they drop them.
I was happy that Schneids at least backed himself a little bit more last week and I thought that given another week or 2 he would find confidence again!
What is he supposed to take out of this dropping? That if you cant play outstandingly in a side playing utter @@@@house then you are going to be dropped?
Roos keeps talking about "regaining confidence" well that doesnt happen in one week! Why is it that Bevan and Amon have been given week after week and had patience and confidence shown in them yet Saddington, Schneider and McVeigh havent?

                          AHHH im so angry!
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

Yep, thats right if you can't be a standout when the rest of the team are playing crap, you must be worse!

                              1) I'm also very glad Schauble's back, perhaps our flanker will be allowed to do that, rather than serving as cannon fodder for opposition KPP's.
                              2) I don't understand Buchanan's place in this team, he's played almost permanently as a goal sneak but kicking goals is the one thing he's never shown any ability with at AFL level. At the same time when he was redrafted he began to show some ability to get the ball out of packs, yet he spends almost no time in the midfield rotation.
                              3) Davis, 3 weeks off are a relaps of a hamstring. Why (other than desperation) are we rushing him into the firsts, why couldn't we have given him at least one game at centre in the 2's?
                              4) Spriggs: Seen him in 1sts and 2nds, he IS NOT a solution just a distraction.
                              5) Jolly, Ball, Goodes, Hall & Vogels. I think that's too many talls for the ruck/forwards (although I thought that last week too).
                              6) Good luck Nick Malceski.

In conclusion I'd not have played Nick Davis, Spriggs or one of either Ball or Vogels (preferably the former). I believe there places should have gone to Schneider, Dempster and either Moore or JoshW (no he hasn't been getting 40 possesions a week in the reserves, but all of his 20 go where he wants them to).

I agree with everything you've said, but why play a crumbing forward if we never kick to a contest.

I'd like to see Ball play as a permanent FF, with Schneider his crumber. MOL in the pocket, and Hall at CHF, Davis and O'keefe on the flanks. When in doubt kick it long to Ball.

Schauble has to start at FB every single game. LRT at CHB. Leo Barry and Kennelly on the flanks. Chances are one will get dragged back to the goal square, but that leaves the other one free.
Goodes to roam around the centre. Never to leave the centre square to try and straighten us up.
No more kickins the the pocket (I believe the pocket actually closes down more of the ground than from the goal square). Long kickins (not Kennelly) to Schuable, Goodes or LRT outside 50.
