It has to be Barry Hall. You could see he was thriving on it on saturday, you could see it in his eyes.
Also he pulled off a magnificent game, and we did actually see glimpses of the team going direct down the middle at times,we looked much better then. The Future is Bright,The Future is Red And White. -
I am keen to see how Jude will go. He had an awesome game on the weekend, and it will be interesting to see if he is able to keep that up as well as tend to his flock.
I liked Kirky as captain, thought he was brilliant, though from what we heard at the last two Sydney after-matches, I don't feel he has the players' vote. Shame, really.
So anyhoo, I believe Jude will be the next captain in succession. Why? Because with all the media attention surrounding the Collingwoood game, the Swans would be crazy not to put the media-savvy pin-up boy in front of the camera: He'll flash a few, highly publicised smiles, will pay credit to the strength of the opposition, (smile again), mention just how hard our guys are working behind the scenes to make sure they continue their winning streak, (smile and laugh), and is not afraid of doing what it takes to get coverage. I do not intend this to be taken the wrong way, for it's simply my two cents worth.
Women love him. Men want to be him [well, I think they all do, deep down!]. And he's a media darling. The could be no candidate better suited than our own Jude.
Apparently this is the most highly publicised week of the season for the Swannies, and they would not be putting a shy, reserved, and quietly spoken captain on to promote the most anticipated match-up of the regular season. I have no beef with Goodes or Mathews, just rekon Jude's the one for the job for that specific week -- he's got it all, and the club needs thatLast edited by Tuesday; 6 June 2005, 12:58 AM.And you can't find nothing at all,

Have a search through the threads for the past month or two, there is a few on who every one thinks will be captain.
Out of the candidates so far
Kirk two wins (@ SCG) - for two good performances.
Barry 1 Win/1Loss (both away) games - not his best performances.
Hall 1 Win (away) one of his best games so far, and I noticed him barking out the orders.
So on performance Hall would be ahead of Kirk, just!!
My personal Pref. JudeComment

Dont be surprised if we dont have a dual-Captain system next year.
Barry Hall and Brett Kirk.
Either way its pretty hard to split them at the moment. Both lifted as a result of being captain, and both had a big impact on the game and the players as a result. Our Greatest Moment:

And why write off Jude and Goodes already. I reckon they both have credentials to match those of Kirk and Hall. In fact, it is pleasing that we have four worthy candidates all of whom have played pretty consistently good football this year, even within the context of a team struggling somewhat. What is more, they all seem keen on the job.
(No disrespect meant to Barry or Mathews - just not sure they're really in line, and don't think it would sit that naturally with Leo anyway, fine fine player though he is.)Comment

I've been skeptical of the Baz for Captain push but I have to admit he (and the team) looked great (in terms of leadership) on Saturday. I think either would make great options and I'm keen to see how Goodes goes as well.
Which in summary is a pretty good argument for the much maligned rotation system.Comment

Bazza kicked five "captain's goals" on the weekend. That has to count for something. A captain's goal can really rally the troops. Remember Kelly's goal against the Roos?"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

It would just be interesting to know how we would've went with a different captain.Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.Comment

Captaincy would be the perfect reward for Hall and his off-field efforts since joining the swans and turning his career around. Before anything though, we'll have to see how Goodesy and Jude handle the captaincy. Good thing about those two is that they are a little youngerCome on Magic!Comment
