 Warfe
 Menklejohn
 Cresswell

 Out

 Stevens
 Ablett
 McPherson

OK then McPherson out is pleasing but why drop 2 kids for 2 olders players?? Cresswell in is fair but I don't think Warfe should of been picked oh well Powell, LRT and Sundqvist have to wait another week at least.Once was, now elsewhere

Good luck to the kid. Warfe is a bit of a shock, ecspecially when it was Stevens that made way for him. The dro of Ablett is no surprise really, but his game time was limited.
This will take a fair amount of expectation off Goodes and allow Ball a bit more run to hopefully continue a rise to form. One new kid every 2 weeks sounds ok, providing it is needed.- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!Comment

I really would have preferred to see the kids get a bit more gametime - you can't prove much with just 5 minutes on the ground.

Ah well, They're sticking with Schneides at least.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

It's great to see Warfe and Cressa back in the side, and it will be interesting to see what Meiklejohn looks like. If he's good enough to allow Ball to go forward then it will be a real bonus.

It's a shame that Ablett got the short straw. I don't reckon that Roos has given him a fair go yet.

Stevens has well and truly missed the boat.Comment

Both of them have to prove that they really want to be a long-term part of the Swans, something neither has done in their (albeit limited) onfield time this season. There's no reason why they can't go back to the Redbacks and dominate at that level. The younger Swans listed players seem to be putting in some good performances at this level and I think it's entirely up to Stevens and Ablett to keep themselves at the front of the chasing pack. It may well be a challenge for them, since neither seems to have played consistently well at reserves level for the past 3 years.Originally posted by chammond

If Stevens gets delisted at the end of this year, but doesn't get the opportunity to play 4 quarters of footy for at least 10 to 15 games, I will be VERY unimpressed. I think he's a real chance to do the job at CHF. All we need is a bloke who can take 8 or 10 marks a game, kick 2 goals and maybe feed another 2 off. I think SS can do this in time, if only he is given the chance! We hate Anthony Rocca
 We hate Shannon Grant too
 We hate scumbag Gaspar
 But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

So Charlie you are expecting SS to become another Carey ??

Those stats you are quoting are totally unrealistic

CHF is the toughest position on the ground.

SS does not have the body strength of Carey, Kernahan or

Dermie, nor does he have the toughness.

At best he will be a HFF. He has a decent kick and mark.

He did well against Brissie in the Wizard cup game in defence
 when moved back.

Maybe we could turn him into another Leppa ?September 24th, 2005 5.14pm

Good luck to Meiklejohn - I wish him all the best.

And here's praying that he is a talented - but not injury prone young ruckman.

 And I'm sure

All agree with meYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

I'm a bit disappointed to see McPherson go - the focus of these changes seems to be to increase our strength in ruck contests (another ruckman, our leader in clearances), and he's pretty good at the "grunt" work of getting into a pack and getting the ball. I guess they're a little worried at Bolton & Saddington's performance last week.Comment

I'm not - he is soft, slow and unaccountable.

he's been on the list for 10 years.

his only 2 assets are long kick and good handball.

he is taking up space and denying a young up and commer an opportunity

 bring in the new blood

 Powell, LRT and Sunny.

we've seen what "Rory' Schneider can do IF given a chance.

Will playing McPherson get us anywhere?

If we want to improve - the club must make very tough choices - introduce players with the potential to improve the team - not just reduce the embarassment in the short term.

We may have to face up to some embarrassing football if in the future we want a quality side.

I've admired his battling spirit but we must move on.

To be honest these are the holes (based on this weeks team) we need to fill in the next 18 months. Will be tough - we need to find some gun runners/ midfielders.Last edited by Reggi; 25 April 2003, 10:49 AM.You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory!
