No, if anything it could give a reason to hold the same rate for another year. Bit like paying the same price for a product which now comes in a smaller container. Hang on, why don't they just throw in the Essendon game at North Sydney to sweeten it a little.

Just to add my two cents to the deabte in light of the recent info from the Doggies about their two nominal home games from next year.

        * They will be played back to back over two weekends in Darwin and thus ensuring the Doggies extract even more dosh (said to be about $1 million a year) from their nominal home games.

        * The odds would almost be negligable that we would be chosen by the NT Government, Doggies and the AFL to play a match in NT. If the NT Government is willing to fork out $1 million a year they will have a very big say in who plays and would almost certain it will be a WA club, SA club or both due to proximity or a traditional large club from Melbourne (ie Richmond, Carlton, Collingwood or Essendon).

        * It also negligable that our new away game would be played in Tasmania, Gold Coast or any other developing markert due to our pulling power in Melbourne. Fact is we draw decent enough crowds against Vic teams in Melbourne that we will be the last of the interstate teams to be asked to play in Tassie etc.

        * With us almost now locked into playing in Melbourne each year in the last round the likelyhood is that the extra home game will be played in Melbourne and not added as another interstate trip.

        * As stated previously many times the game in Canberra has nothing to do with us scheduling wise so should not be caught up in this conversation

It all the points to 6 or 7 games a year in Melbourne with one of those in Geelong.
