You and me both Gary, I couldn't make the game this evening, but have been sitting by the radio and will be watching the game too.

GO YOU GOOD THINGS!!! Showed a lot of guts to play the final quarter with only two left on the bench and totally outrun the Dees.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Having not actually seen any of the game, but heard it on the radio, it sounded like our season played out in four quarters - AGAIN.

I watched Last Time They Met on Fox earlier today, and it reminded me of how good we look when we get our run going. It seems to get our confidence up, and then we look brilliant. It's what happened against the Roos and Melbourne in the second half of last season, against Carlton in Round 1 and it sounded like it happened again tonight in the final quarter.

        MORE PLEASE!!!!

Awesome last quater from the lads, they just ran the Dees off their feet .
Still amaazes me how they can kick 7 until 3/4 time and then bang on 10 in the last quater??
Really glad Ball had a good game and Adam Scheinder certainly has the skills and brain to be a great player.

          WELL DONE SWANNIES!!!

He will go close for the nomination.
Good to see Micky O get a few touches and a couple of goals. Still not back to his best but played himself into a little form tonight.

Good win, still problems that must be answered but still a good brave win. Schneider was bloodly good again, this kid is so special - bloodly cocky too, backs himself well. Ball stood up when needed and Magic showed us he is back and know all he needs is fitness.

Menklejohn showed something. Schauble going down early was something we didn't need and then to have Bolton go down was worrying. But we stood tall when it mattered. Saddo had a great game as did Kirk.

Hall did nothing goal wise, but in that last term put himself in the play and was a huge difference. Davis had his best game for us and Goodes was Goodes.

Overall still some worrying signs such as poor handling and such, but to come back like we did was hearting. Next week we have Collingwood who are coming off 2 poor losses so maybe we are a chance. Looks like Schauble and C.Bolton will miss so I think LRT and Powell might get a call up.

Good summary and good call on Hall. His pressure and presence in the last quater was fantastic.
Is it just me or when Leo Barry gets the ball is it also heart in the mouth stuff for everyone else? He never seems to have any conviction about what to do with it.

This feels weird but I actually feel less postive about things after that match than for the past 3 weeks. I know the last quarter was excellent, and they showed some spirit, but Daniher must be fuming about just how bad Melbourne were in that final quarter.

But the result shouldn't blind us to just how ordinary the Swans were up until 3/4 time. I think the effort was there but they just looked clueless most of the time, the pressure skills were terrible - how many times would two or three Swans just stand around the ball and watch a Melbourne player pick it up and sprint away unhindered? - and at times the fumbling and poor decision making hit new heights even for the Swans.

Hopefully they will take encouragement and self-belief away from that final quarter. But, boy, Roos still has a huge amount of work to do.

On the positive side, Schneider really did have another super game. Even up to 3/4 time I thought he was good - possibly only he, Ball and Cressa could hold their heads up to that point. Good to see Ball getting better and better each week. Him staying fit for the rest of the year could be the difference between mediocrity and the wooden spoon. Whether or not that's a good thing...

I agree with Lizz about the poor first three quarters. But I was so pleased by the heart and spirit they showed in the final quarter. If they show that same commitment and will to win for the rest of the year - even if they lose more games than they win - I will be a proud Swans supporter.

Good points Lizz, although I think our second quater was reasonable. We took the ball forward enough in the third but took so many poor options kicking inside 50.
But yes I agree still plenty of polish needed on the skills, especially disposals.

The problem is our midfield is nothing like Melbourne's so I was happy with how we were going because I knew Melbourne relied on Neitz too much. He was killing us, but at the same time no one else was kicking their goals. So I was saying to Dad if we keep him to 6 goals we'll win because Melbourne don't go elsewhere for goals.

Yes I must admit I'm still in cloud nine over that last qtr , but in reality the swans were the same old in the 1st 3 qtrs and we still have a huge way to go.
I hope this last qtr doesnt make the coaching staff forget to fix the usual clangers what was for the most a really bad game from the swans ( admittedly undermanned in defence )
