This is really the worst part of our game. It has been appalling for a few years now, and the same players seem to rotate through the centre which is a worry. We got absolutely belted at centre bounces and stoppages all round the ground for 3 quarters, and I don't think the ruck contets had much to do with it.

It seems our smaller players run the wrong way or are to intent on blocking or keeping guard on their man rather than doing the team thing and getting the pill.

Maybe we need a couple of more courageous players at centre bounces, who can get off quick kicks and handpasses. Bolton is doing a lot of hard work but his reaction time at disposal like many others is slow. Amazing when the quick kicks and handpasses got going in the last quarter it all happened.

There is no doubt the stoppage work of Melbourne was the difference between the 2 sides to 3 quarter time.

I have got to say it appears Melbourne have a real fitness problem.

With the loss by the Hawks and the possible losses by Freo (to WC) and Port (to the Crows) Sydney might find themselves back in the eight tomorrow night

It has to be said that it was weird that Roos took until the third quarter to try and double team Neitz. Interestingly we seemed to lift in defence after Bolton's departure. We do lack height in defence. Why Tadgh is put there is beyond me. I'd put him as a fleet-footed wingman who can be used for quick trasmission of the ball up to the forward line. Or do you think his defensive skills aren't up to it?

A frustrating night, but a good win. We are a confidence side. 7 goals for the first 3, then 10 in the last in indicative of the skitzophrenic footy team we have this season.

I'm not expecting to beat the Pies. But if there are good odds, I'd put some smart money on us to really give the dirty Pies something to worry about next Saturday.

            There's always next week!!

A win by more than ten points will move us ahead of the Pies.

            That would be sweet.
