Mal Michael says we're the best!

Mal has been quoted as saying the Swans forward line is the most difficult in the comp to contain and match up on.

Nice wrap, but what are we going to to about it for the rest of 2005?

I have a feeling that Mal maybe right. In all our recent wins against the Lions, our forwards have made them pay. Baz, Magic and ROK have done some severe damage at times.

We piled on 9 in 20 minutes last week with quick clearances and hussling defence. Any backline would have nightmares about that kind of delivery. It was awesome to watch. Not often you can say that about Sydney...Awesome to Watch.

Nicholson, Ferguson, Brown, Bizzell & co would hate that as much as the Cats did. Sounds simple? I'd like to think it's easier than over possessing.

Thoughts? Do we have the best forward line in the AFL?

When all players are fit, I think StKilda's is arguably the best.

Ours is in the top few though.

The one thing missing this year, I think, would be a true small crumbing forward. Having someone like Milne in the team (how accurate is this guy!) would make us that bit more dangerous. Buchanan wasn't really right for the job, but would love to see a fit and confident Schneider back in there - and not in the middle.

They talked very briefly about Schneider on On the Couch last night - Mike is going to do some research and find out what is happening with him.

Schneider's the missing ingredient to potentially our best possible forward line. Wouldnt we all love to see him back in the A's playing in his 2003 form.

Agree with Monopoly's comments. But I don't think we'll see Schneider back this season.

I think when everyone is fit and in form, our forward line is probably the best in the league. What I feel usually lets us down is our delivery to F50 - often much too stilted and indirect. We are best when rebounding from half back, hitting a leading forward with a low, drilled pass. I've noticed that our players often send the ball in high to F50, despite the fact that our forwards (with the exception of ROK) are poor overhead markers. And then there's the old 'kick and hope' habit.

It's always hard to judge a forward line in isolation. A good midfield flatters the forwards.

Exactly why it is ESSENTIAL we get a quality crumber into that forward line ASAP!

                Well it aint Schnieds

He is living on past glories from 2003

he is too fat, too slow, too soft & too selfish

small crumbing forwards need to have real talent

why do people hate milne , farmer and matera ?

                because they are so good

I'm afraid schneider is a one season wonder like Les Bamblett and Adrian McAdam

Earlier this year he gave a gobful to young Ed Clarke telling him

"to pull his head in and not to think he's a superstar"

                Pot calling the kettle black

Schneides and his attitude problem mate Powell need to start with a clean slate elsewhere

                over to you Schneiderman

I think the forwards can take overhead marks, it's just the ball is often kicked in a way which allows two opponents to spoil, and spoil overhead. The ball should be kicked ideally in front of anyone's chest anyway.

But the forward half's potential will never be realised while the midfield is so average.

Actually we are ranked 14th in points for, but 16th in goals for.

OK. But we were 16th for the last few weeks, b4 our BIG win on the weekend, outscoring the Hawks and Carlton.

We are only 12 points away from 16th.
