I think we all know that the "umpires source" was Goldsphincter.

Relevant article in todays Terrorgraph, with Gieschen denying allegation that Swans players are whingers. Also includes information about Sydney's free kick ratio this season.

            Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.

Whether they whinge or not, I'd still like to see Paul Roos give them a similar instruction to what Mark Thompson gave Geelong, just don't talk back, and see where that gets us.

Might not make a difference, but maybe the only way to get a better deal from the maggots is to think like them. It's been said before, but whinging like you're Lleyton Hewitt disputing every second line call isn't the best way to earn an umpire's respect.

Sure, whether their respect is worth earning is another thing - but they do control the game, after all...

                It's official: Hall no whinger
AFL umpires boss Jeff Gieschen went into damage control yesterday when he left an "it wasn't me" message on the phone of Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos.

Geeeeees! Apparantly there's an article going around that Geoff Gieschen went into damage control yesterday when he left an "it wasn't me" message on the phone of Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos.

Similar story to the Hun's in The Age - Barry Hall is OK and the Swans are OK too. Mind you I agree with the idea that Roos should tell the team to say nuffin' - the fans generally say enough for them.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
