Great work in defence by Craig Bolton really has been rock solid in the last line

Outstanding win - one of our best for the season.
Didn't get to see all of the game, but from what I've seen:

Excellent games by Hall and C Bolton.
Really good by Kirk, O'Keefe, Goodes and J Bolton.
Great game by Ball, particularly in the last quarter.
Pretty good game by LRT - probably one of his best.
Some really nice work by Buchanan.
        Shocking game by Schneider.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Not "one of" but THE best win for the year, IMHO.

Away from home, playing a quality, determined opponent at, or close to, full strength. Dees gave a real dip but our boys were the better team and deserved the win. Also a really good four quarter effort, even though there were ebbs and swings during the game.

Ball's best for the year by far. Both Boltons far more effective than their stats will suggest. Certainly some telling touches by LRT and no obvious bloopers.

Schneider isn't going to appear in any "best lists" but wouldn't describe his game as a shocker. He was playing in an unfamiliar role and although Davey won the contest overall, he didn't have a huge influence on the game.

Yep - 'the best' is probably the best description.

I was just very unimpressed with Schneider - waited for the ball and didn't commit to contests, was poor on Davey and did nothing when he got the ball.

Also Jolly had a good night in the ruck, the rotation of Ball/Jolly vs White really paid dividends in getting the ball out the middle

Kudos to Buchanan, Craig Bolton and LRT. Not big in the stats but fantastic games.

How good was that. Best game from Sydney so far this year. Even LRT had a great last quarter. 7 goals to Hall was fantastic. I am so looking forward to next weeks game against the Wiggles, who killed Brisbane. Should be a huge game and crowd at the SCG. Sydney are finding the right form at the right time of year. Very exciting. I cant stop smiling.

Poor Jeff White, Melbourne are going to kill him if they don't give him a rest during games.

When you've never played in defence before and you're on the quickest bloke in the league, I can understand why you'd probably hold back a little from contests. Going in hard, losing your feet and seeing your opponent sprint away from the ball probably isn't the go.

He didn't do anything tonight to suggest he has a long future as a defender, and hopefully he'll find his way back to the other end of the ground where he's probably better suited. But I don't think it was as terrible an effort as you are suggesting.

Very strange selection going with just one ruckmen for Melb, White would have to be absolutlely knackered after that and praying they don't do it next week

It wasn't just against Davey - I thought a few times he waited rather than went for the ball.

Goddamit, I'm in HK and they are not replaying the damn game on ABC Asia Pacific tonight - thank jesu for AFL.com online replays although I will have to wait the obligatory friggin two days.

I listened to some of the game over the net on MMM streaming and it sounds like the boys are playing with real commitment and flair. On the game desk, the bloke labelled Sydney legitimate premiership contenders.

Get a black dog up ya Robert Walls! If we keep getting 6/9 goal quarters and then shutting the other team down, then I believe you'll have to start talking about Sydney and 'tempo' footy again. bring back tempo footy!

I cannot believe LRT got 9 possies and seems to have played well. Schnieder in the backline, another masterstroke from our evil genius coach.

For my mind Goodes MUST be captain next year. His discussion on MMM after the game was brilliant and eloquent - he even took the piss out of Jude for being captain next week when Nicole Kidman is to be at the game.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I'd have to go with Liz. I didn't think he was great but I didn't think he was terrible. It wasn't bad for someone who gets to come back in to the seniors and is thrown straight into an unfamiliar position.
