    Next week's cracker match!

I already cannot wait for next week's HUGE game against the Eagles. Hoping that there will be some big media hype up here to promote the game, similiar to the Saints game last year prior to round 11 where the media really got behind us and we got a great crowd.

Optimistically predicting if a fine day 35,000 at the SCG.

Anyone coming up from Melbourne (or elsewhere) for the big game?

    Go Swannies!

If they promote it right and the weather's good, they might even get 40,000 for a game between a very in-form Sydney and the top of the ladder Wiggles on a sunny Sunday arvo at the SCG.

      Me.

But will people pay all that money to go from Perth to Sydney via aeroplane? Or broom broom and petrol costs?

Think about this; When played Melbourne earlier, we lost, 2nd time round, we won. When we played Eagles, we lost, next round could be a win. Uh oh, does that mean we will lose to Essendon, Hawthorn and Brisbane? Then we can win to Kangaroos.

Argh, superstitions are such an ulitmate suckage.

ahh bon bon, things are now so much different.

        bombers.....no worries there

        hawthorn......percentage booster

kangaroos......time to right a wrong. incentive a big one here for the boys. i think we will win this one

brisbane...well shutting down aka with jared crouch and big brown with maybe leapin', thats most of the job done against the lions to be honest.

i think things are going along well for us at the moment. im looking fwd to the game this week. i think that if the eagles played the lions up here at the gabba it might have been a different result. maybe this trip over the nullabor will wreck the west coast train. historically they are pretty bad at the scg

        cheers

That's what happened last year. We beat every team once, except the eventual premiers. Hopefully it wont happen again this year.

And don't forget B2 -- he always seems to play really well against his old team, and I cannot wait to see that on the 14th August! Even managing to drag my Dad along to see this on his birthday (though he will have received his rugby fix at the Bledisloe the night before). Hopefully, from this date forward, he will be crying "Carn, carn!" if feebly with me, until the very end

as far as team selection goes, it will be pretty hard to change after our 2 best wins for the year

But I think Dempster is bound to be dropped back to the 2's just to keep his fitness up with a full game.
Schuable would be an obvious replacement, but I'm not sure he would have a great match up against WC.

I hope we knock off those Eagles.

                    In our favour:
                    * The Eagles have won in Sydney only four times in 19 seasons.
                    * The Eagles look due for a loss.
                    * Gardiner and Cox could both be suspended.

                    Against us:
                    * The Eagles' monster form of 15 wins and only 1 loss.

I'd have thought the West Coast is one team in which there is an obvious match-up for Schauble - Lynch. He's big and strong and not overly quick - perfect. However, he's also as close to a dud as the WC has at the moment, I reckon, so not a key match-up to worry about.

Quinten Lynch (what were his parents thinking of?) has kicked 25.14 and provided plenty of contests for Matera et al too feed off. So I would be very happy for Schauble to come back and mind him.

The reason he's created so many opportunities for Matera is because the guy cannot catch. In an uncotested marking situation, I'd back LRT over Lynch and that's saying something!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Woosha noted that a lot of his guys struggled on Sat with the flu & would be feeling it the next day.

With 1st place sewn up, I won't be suprised if he takes the opportunity to rest a few stars. There was a rumour that Judd wasn't 100% fit on the weekend.

Obviously, I'd luv us to beat a fully fit Eagles side but if we have to take them on w/o Judd, Cox & a couple of others, well, that won't be so bad either.

Mind you many of us also thought the same thing about Neitz, what IS the go with Scauble?
