I wonder if Schaubs would have played if Gardner had? We definitely seemed short of tall defenders for a while there.

i don't have much to say here, mainly a reader, but the negative comments about lrt are really getting under my skin.
ther are rwo's who expect every player to be perfect (bet they aren't)and those who never admit to any improvement.
i remind you all that he is learning from one of the great chb's ever and it is starting to show, and further lets remember that roos was not always a great chb,he started as a forward, was dropped a number of times, before he learnt the game.
one day you will all be in awe of lrt.

Even if Hanson had played I would have been comfortable because I thought LRT's game on him in Perth was quite good. No he didn't have more stats than Hanson, but Hanson had one of his worst games of the season againt LRT (No goals and only 4 marks). For some of us it was a clear sign that the LRT experiment was starting to bear fruit.

Metaphorically, I think perhaps you just had a nibble in any case.

I disagree, I only got really worried after the Geelong game and he's bounced back for which I am very pleased.

I don't know if anyone else has posted it but The Hyphen was listed in the Bests list in the SMH... but then so was Mathews and they didn't have Kirk in there...

Check out page 2 of this thread Wil. It was discussed there, but not abt the SMH.

A solid game! Not perfect, but he played every bit as well as the rest of the team in defense. His best game yet IMHO (against quality opposition). Here's hoping it continues. 3.5 / 5

Thanks. I didn't realise they were released so quickly. I am not interested in trawling through LRT (or Barry vs the World) threads anymore.

Sure tastes bad. Happened to me earlier this season.

haha, still not a big fan, but he had a good game.

Not exactly gushing praise saying that one day he may become a required player.

That's sort of in between being trade bait and being a star.

I like to simply call it as I see it.
He shouldn't have been playing seniors.
                      Didn't contribute much at all.

But his position should only be dependant on his last game, so he should play next week.

I hope he can continue to develop.

I think we should present Lewis with an official award: most talked about subject on RWO.

This from the RWO match report . . .
"LRT is starting to work on instinct more. Probably performs better when the heat is on."
It's a valid point, he seems to do best when things get "willing" but has been a little loose otherwise. I've noticed on several occasions how after a visit from the runner, the lad's started jostling his opponent. Perhaps the coaching panel have noticed this and were seeking to generate some argybargy between LRT and his opponent.
Perhaps Peter Jonas should give the lad a smack in the mush just before the game?

This sounds like the quintessential Ruckman solution - I almost thought this would be standard for all players in your regime? In any event I'm all for it!

I get the feeling you're probably not a fan of the Grant Thomas New Age School of Coaching (tho of course he wasn't above giving his capt'n a clip earlier this year too).

Carn LRT. Got to love that boy.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

This probably equates LRT is not a downhiller but a big match player. We do need such players when the finals come.
