    Round 17 Negatives

Tough, but to be consistent, here we go.

Our forwards seemed to struggle today. Apart from the last 10 minutes of the game, we must have well and truely dominated the I50s but were unable to capitalise on the scoreboard. On the other hand, it seemed that the Weagles were getting scores (even if they were behinds a lot of the time) almost every time they went forward.

We need more input from Nick Davis in particular throughout the game.

Not really a negative but here is as good as anywhere. Is Hall carrying an injury? His marking is not what is was this time last year.

Does anyone know what the injuries were from the game? Someone mentioned in the Match thread that we only had 1 fit player on the bench at some stage.

Davis has to work harder especially on the defensive end. Seemed to be in a petulant mood today, chucked a little tantrum in the 4th when Hall was lining up a shot and refused to pass to him.

Cox kicking 4 in the 2nd quarter. Ball is not a defender, Schauble would be very suitable to taking on a resting ruckman.

Cox threatened to win the game singlehandedly in the 1st quarter before he went to the bench for a rest, and also in the 2nd quarter at full forward. But what happened to him in the 2nd half, he was hardly sighted.

Leo went off sometime in the 4th, no idea with what. Then LRT pulled a hammy? and he went off too. Malceski was already off and couldn't come back. Triple M commentary said ROK was injured too but he did come back late in the 4th.

              Goodes was held.
              Davis went missing again.
Hall can't take a contested mark.
Dempster looked like a deer caught in headlights more than once.
Malceski did little, but had little opportunity and may have injured himself.
McVeigh provided a very convincing impersonation of Fosdike.

...but it was still our most convincing outing of the season.

                        Goodes had a terrible game.

Disposal is still ordinary overall - some shocking kicks to the forwards.

Hall is not a good mark overhead under pressure (so we need to allow for that when kicking forward).

                        Some terrible shots at goal.

                        Davis far too quiet.

                        McVeigh still having no impact.

                        Injuries to Barry and Malceski.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

The crowd in the O'Reilly!?! It seems too many people read my post about being quiet too seriously. There are so many people who just sit there and look... I dont know... like us in the crowd that are shouting and chanting are really interupting their enjoyment of the game. I really felt like yelling at those tools that go to Sydney Games. You know the ones, that wear dark clothes with the one expensive Swans Scarf (or Hat - not both).

I think I am catching the JF sickness

I had some of that too at the bottom of the Noble Stand. Twice I stood up to celebrate as the ball sailed through the goals, and was told to sit down coz he couldnt see. I was about to abuse him if he told me again, but thankfully the theatre-goer shut up for the rest of the game.

I am all for newcomers, and have done more than my fair share of introducing virgins to the swans, but they have to understand that the crowd gets involved in the game.
