I think the "Hallcentric" was valid in 2004 but not so much this year.

2 problems I think they need to address to get us to the next level:
The quality of passes to the forwards. And the organisation of the forwards including leading,"crumbing" and transition from defending to attacking. Longmuire should have a good look at the forward structure and how they need to work together with the midfield.

I agree with: "Being too Hallcentric is a bad thing."

I dont agree with: "We are being too Hallcentric."

I think many posters clearly made the second point, and I think its just plain wrong. Besides which, if Bazza had taken a few more of those (admittedly not ideally delivered) kicks inside our F50, the tactic would have been doubly effective. The fact he spilled so many (especially the one that bounced off his chest) makes people think we tried to get it too him too often.

Interesting as MOL is third in the comp.
However, we are the lowest goal-scoring team in the comp!

Plus we were always going to struggle in the second half due to the brutal game against the bombers the previous week.

Unfortunately we didn't have enough of a break at half time to ride it out.

Let's not forget North's easy game against Brisbane the week before. David King's thuggery definitely unsettled our forward line though.

Hold on, where are these Goal Assist stats recorded? I never see them in the paper.

So with 20.2 goals in 3 games now, are we still too Hallcentric??

Or is just playing such great footy, that they can't ignore him.

As one of the commentators said today, his presenting is demanding the footy.

With Baz so close to the Coleman, I would have expected more focus on getting him the ball late in the flogging (before he was benched). To the team (and Baz') credit, they don't seem to be thinking about it.

No in the Bris game (and Essendon to a lesser extent) they didn't appear as "Hallcentric". Against Essendon BBH had to work hard to get his seven. Not just merely expecting a pass. And again versus Brisbane he played mostly at CHF as far as I could see on telly. Great mark when he crashed into a pack with Mal Michael breathing down his back.
IMHO that is how the ball should be delivered to Hall. Get to it up their quickly and let all the forwards compete for it - instead of this chipping around and waiting for a pass opportunity to Barry. The opposition read it like a book!

Goodes in the forward line as against Bris just fills me with confidence - makes the forward line look so much stronger.

Hall did nothing in the first half especially and is hopeless when the ball hits the ground a la his two dropping the balls.

I was screaming at the TV - "Go to Davis" as an alternative option. Yes he didn't do much either but that was largely because he was ignored a lot of the time when they went forward.

Remember the 96 Grand Final when Troy Luff was the counter-foil to Lockett and he surprised the opposition by kicking several early goals?

Roos needs to come up with surprsise like that especially on these super important games.
Well, if he used that plan now, it wouldn't be a surprise come GF day now would it?

And, "that kick" to Lockett. I can't believe how the whole team's heads just hung after kell kicked that ball. Now it's not kells fault, but they were the 3 defining moments of the game. Archer shutting down luff, King purposefully taking out OB (I saw the intent in his eys), and Kell's kick to plugger. I hate that game

Maybe, but its about a good a lesson from North as there is, as to whats required to win a GF.

If only Kickett had made the most of his last ever game by smashing Carey and Archer.
