...St. Kilda on the other hand
I think WC will not be as worried - they will do better on a bigger ground than they did on the SCG.
As for Adelaide, I still think they're playing beyond their longer-term ability this season, but they'll still be tough.
StKilda will of course be tough.
Actually, most teams will for us on the MCG unless we are really on our game.

We thought that and saw that last year...

Adelaide should have belted us tonight. We were pathetic. Aside from LRT, Goodes and Kirk, noone can hold their heads high. Hall, O'Keefe, Ablett, Williams, Davis, O'Loughlin, Buchanan, Schneider, Mathews, Barry all had little to no impact on the game. Some of that was due to Adelaide and their pressure, but it was mainly due to wasted chances and poor performances on our part. IMO, a performance like that, away from home against the team coming second deserved a belting. We were average at best and they should have punished us. I have no fears facing them in an away final at AAMI. We deserved a lot worse than we copped.
- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
We dominated for three quarters and we were pathetic? We had three more scoring shoots and certainly didn't make the most of our opportunities but apart from letting our guard down at the start of the 3rd quarter we weren't pathetic.
I'd say Pebbles cost us the game with some very poor kicking - and Baz for giving away a stupid 50. Goodes looked like he was carrying the whole team for a while there. Very disappointing result - esp our inability to kick goals in the last quarter. I think I now know what other teams feel like when they play us!
A month ago it seemed like fantasy to suggest we could win most of the games we have played this month. But we won 3 out of 4. There is no reason why we shouldn't win the rest. Except the guys looked tired at the end - hope they rebound for the Bombers in Melbourne.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when the Ctows play the Eagles.

To say we dominated 3 quarters is true - But to then assume that it was good football cannot be said in all facets of our game.
Simply, bad kicking is bad football! We certainly had opportunities up forward but our bad kicking and Adelaide's superb pressure on the man and desperation is what won out on the night.
If not for three minutes in that third quarter (which I missed - So it's all my fault!) how different would the result have been?
It was disappointing but I believe a much better effort overall than our recent performances against Adelaide - It gives me hope!
Making up the numbers: any two of North, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Melbourne and Fremantle.
Let's be realistic. Outside West Coast and Adelaide, any club that makes the Grand Final will have to win a prelim at Subiaco or Footy Park. I haven't seen anything to suggest that either team wouldn't be massive favourites to win at their own home ground. Ergo, a West Coast vs Adelaide Grand Final is quite probable.
St Kilda are in great form, and are probably the most able to upset the apple cart, especially if they beat finish third and beat Adelaide, thus setting up a home final against (most likely) an interstate side. Sydney, Geelong and Brisbane can do great things on their day, but are at relatively long odds. All will have to win at least one, maybe even two, games on the road in order to make the Grand Final.
We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!
Going on tonights game if we draw Adelaide in week 1 of the finals at AAMI I would be quitely confident.
That's twice in a few seasons they have beaten us there by 4 and 7 points. By the way what was that free for tonight where we got a goal taken off us? reminds me of the carey goal,,,
grrrr..i hate adelaide.

Same here. That is the main positive coming out of the game. If we could get a bit of extra drive from maybe Maxfield or Fosdike, I think we are a definite chance for the Grand Final. We have the game and the troops to put the Crows away. They know that too and that is the psychological advantage if we have to meet them again.
I dont like the prospect of having to play at either Subiaco or AAMI in September. Damn letting 2nd place get away from us through poor kicking for goal. 1.6 was bloody terrible in the last quarter. Inaccuracy has been one of our bigest problems this year.
Drove home from Sydney tonight feeling really flat cause of tonights result and what it means re who and where we may have to play in September.
