I know we discussed this a fair bit after the game, but it is amusing to see the sort of value that the coaching staff also puts in the goal kicking ability of different players
"We had Amon Buchanan hitting the post from the goal square, Nick Davis missing from 45, it was pretty costly but you'd hope it was a one-off," Longmire says.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Lately we've been kicking more goals than behinds on occasion so I am atleast proud of that.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

With the notable exception of the last quarter against the Cows.

          Very good tonight in general.

          Good
          - 7 straight from Hall.
          - Buchanan kicking one at a crucial time.
          - Brilliant goal from MOL.
          - Goodes kicking from set shot.

          Bad
          - Davis missing 2 kickable ones, especially for him.
          - ROK missing a snap.
          - Jolly missing altogether.
          - Schneider blazing away twice.

Nicky D's two misses were embarassing for someone who was such a dead-eye dick.

Goodes' set shots have improved dramatically this season.

I read somewhere once that Telstra Dome has a "dry" atmosphere - ie. more "carry" than outside grounds, and that this allows the ball to travel a greater (and perhaps more unpredictable) distance. Anyone else hear of that?

So the theory may be that teams that regularly do TD, are used to the way it is and adjust their kicking stroke. I guess I'm going out on a limb here, and I know it doesnt answer the accuracy question .. but may have some bearing.

Having the roof on should contribute to increased accuracy at least. Although Lloyd's pre kick obsessive ritual of dropping grass to see which way the breeze is blowing continues and his time wasting is tolerated. NOG indicated to one of the three blind mice in the third quarter that he was lining up for a shot and he was called to play on

                  Very, very disappointing.

Almost deserving of a "whats wrong with Davis?" thread. He gave away a shocker last night too, kicking the ball str8 to Hird in centre and resulted in an Essendon goal.

I noticed that with Lloyd - why on earth would you do the throw the grass in the air thing when it is undercover - and he gets away with it - the play on decision against Ablett must be addressed by the umpires committee - it was a stupid decision by the umps (and you should have heard Luffy & Keka go off about it!)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

The umps give Lloyd the most outrageously preferential treatment that I have ever seen given to a footballer. The contrast between the free kicks he received last night and what Hall didnt receive was gobsmacking. And that grass throwing crap inside TD just makes him look like a total wanker.

Hell yeah. Is it a good luck thing, or is it to see which way the wind is blowing (duh - the roof is closed). Whenever he kicks a goal he does it so that's what I thought.

                              It's a routine thing.
