I was a bit of a chicken again - listedn to MMM and was watching the game a quarter behind - but at least I could watch the third quarter properly.
It seems that, whilst their game still has some really rough spots, that the boys are getting it together at the right time. Even with the umpires seemingly playing for the opposition, we can still scrape home - Its going to be a very tense next 3 weeks, then when the finals arrive, our stress levels will increase twofold!

By the time I left TD last night, almost all Bombers fans had fled leaving only celebrating Swans fans. It was great to walk across the packed Spencer St footbridge surrounded by so many thousands of happy, red and white wearing Swans supporters. A group of guys behind me were singing the club song, a Barry Hall chant and a send up of the Bombers songs ("See the Bombers crash down down"). And didnt theb few the Bombers fans stuck amongst the throng of red and white look miserable. Great stuff.

Tuff game as we thought it would be - but gotta say I always felt confident, always thought we had it under control.

Very solid team performance with a couple of star turns - BBBH, B2, Goodes in Q3 in partic, MOL giving a clinic on goal assists, Schneider. Also excellent games from Taigh & NOG (who is extremely close to having me as a fan after seasons of bagging him).

Had a big night celebrating my hubby's birthday - dinner planned for months. As we were at a club my daughter told me we were a few points ahead near end of 3rd quarter.
Went outside to the TV area at club and found some supporters hoping for Sydney to lose - this is in Sydney.
Got cranky and decided to go back to the car, as TV was delayed in Sydney, and turned on the radio to hear Cheer Cheer.
Oh boy what a great celebration and fun night we celebrated extra long that night. Came home and watched the whole game.
Great satisfaction to know we won.

Very satisfying to finally beat the Bombers in Melbourne - especially as Essendon were always our bogey team around the time I started following the Swans. I am now 1 from 1 in Melbourne!

When I first arrived at the ground on Saturday, the final minutes of the "Alessio game" in 2001 were being shown on the big screen. After having to endure the pain - again - I think this just may have broken the jinx.
