Many many positives all been mentioned, but the no. 1 to me was:

      THE BAZZAROMETER

When the bazzarometer is reading at around 7 hectopascles straight then we're in for a fine day in Sydney.
"Red and White for blood cells, Red and White for wine."
"They could be the whole damn spectrum, if you just damn let them"

The main positive was that we won and everybody in this world has the right to feel relieved (if you were like me who was terrified of a loss and felt sick at the game)!
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Stranegly enuff I always thought we had the game under control & got the feeling the players felt that way too. Not sure why but whole lot less tense watching last nite than watching the final overs of the test tonite....sigh.

Bazza's seven of the best putting him within five of the lead in the Coleman. Round 22 against the Hawks is suddenly looking like an unexpectedly interesting clash with Williams at the other end.

              Eighteen goals.

We beat the Bombers at the Doom Dome and exorcised the ghosts of 2002.

I think Williams is carrying an injury and will struggle from here on. He kicked 4 behinds from 5 touches today and ended the last 1/4 on the bench.

Speaking of Paul Williams - his flu must've cleared up?

Agreed. Came back well after a cheap high shot by Hammerman. Kept his eyes on the ball all night. He is really maturing as a versatile team player

I think one of the main positives to come out of the game was that while it was a tough, contested game like many of the grinding contests we've been involved in this year, we still kicked 18 goals - kicking goals regularly helped keep us in the game when we weren't playing all that well in the first half. 5 goals per quarter after quarter time is pretty consistent scoring despite some poor skill errors, really kept us in the game.

The second half was much better - finished off the Bombers fairly well in the last quarter, with greater concentration, led to fewer skill errors (the worst one after half time was a stray kick from Dempster in the backline, but that's really a positive because we kicked a goal from it )

Also great to see Tadhg's run coming back again - he was pretty good except for the free kick he gave away in the second. Especially loved one play where he backed himself to get around Murphy I think on the half-back flank and then took off down the wing There were some great end-to-end transitions at times, and nice to see Schneider getting involved.

Craig Bolton's gotten a lot of praise on here already, but his game on Lucas was very good.

Oh, and the flags in the cheersquad looked great at the ground, and on TV when I watched the replay. It was tough generating as much noise with all the red and black around, even at that end, but there were quite a few Swannies in the aisles around us in the forward pocket around from the CS, and we got louder in the last quarter The long, slow SYD----NEEEE chant even spread from the CS over to us at one stage!

In a fair crowd of 41k the red and white in evidence was certainly encouraging.

This is game we can generally lose, all the factors we do not favour...
                          favourites,
                          opponent with nothing to lose,
                          early deficit,
Dons not kicking points at all for nearly an hour,
5 goals from frees for Dons
                          umpiring a disgrace!

                          And we won...

Dons played spot on, clear the centre quickly to tall forwards leading into the key...expose our lack of height. And I think Sheeds might have shown LRT a modicum of respect by dragging him away from helping in the contests in the centre of defence. I think we should have had a spare man in defence to break that pattern up in the first half.

For a contest against a team outside the eight I think it was a good test for us, boy though, do we need another tall defender!

C Bolts has to be a chance for the best and fairest.

Tadhg played a very good game on Tird (who's just as bad as Lloyd in taking a fall)
