    Of course you do.

Perhaps we should swap our unruly lot with the Cantebury bulldogs.

Oh well, if you think you are right and the people inside the club are wrong for having that view, then good for you...

What a mountain out of a mole hill...unbelievable!! Lappin is one of the best and most respected players in the AFL and deservedly so. The Sydney crowd doing the Mexican wave had nothing to do with disrepect for Lappin. It was trying to start at least 5 minutes before the injury happened, the crowd was in a jovial mood the whole game (it felt like finals, touch of spring in the air) and were simply having fun.

Our member seats are right next to where the Lions (away) team enters and exits TS, many of us stood and applauded Lappin as he went past but I guess that is not shown on TV.

People are quick to criticise without knowing the real facts or indeed making statements without even being there at the game.

Having attended nearly every Swans home game since 82 and many away games, I was NO WAY embarressed by the wave yesterday. The only time I can recall an away player being booed and cheered off when injured was when Libber did his knee on a sunny afternoon at the SCG, after all the run ins with Paul Kelly.

I sure as hell did! It happened right in front of me.

            Anyway,

If you're offended by a mexican wave, you must have serious inhibition issues.

If the club was offended then lets wait for them to make a statement about it...somehow I don't think they will.

Your relative was probably offended and used the ole "The club was offended view..." when really it was probably his or hers.

                  1. The game was not boring!
                  2. The mexican wave is boring and old hat!
                  3. The mexican wave started a long time before the game stopped!
                  4. I and most other people at the game had no idea the injury was serious!

Large sections of the crowd and posters have said they were not aware of the extent and nature of Lappins injury at the time. The wave stopped as the cart took Lappin off. He was reasonably clapped off as many have posted.

Nothing to see here....... move on people.

BTW did anyone notice on the replay that as the wave goes around the ground while Lappin is injured, the Lions fans behind the goal join in ?

The thing that amazed me most about the incident was that Lappin didn't seem fazed at all. The crowd weren't to know.

It was a real carnival atmosphere yesterday and quite unusual to be there in the daytime.

I love the Collingwood fans have a crack on BF, the same crew who drew the infamous jumper response from Nicky Winmar.

The response to this issue is way over the top.

God, I am sorry I started this, I just thought it strange that the wave was happening at the same time as Lappin was being assisted.

Now, I realise that it started before hand, but the TV didn't show that.

The original post wasn't meant to be critical, it just seemed weird on TV.

                            Talk about reading comprehension difficulties.

I was quite clearly talking about the Roos game in my response.

I didn't say I was offended by a wave - I said that it comes across badly given the circumstances, as others have observed and as some club people thought.

Your relative has every right in whatever capacity they play at the Swans to say what they like, however, I would have thought if the club was offended and embarressed at all by what happened they a) would have made an apology or b) at least mentioned something as a passing comment in the media. Neither has happened.

I didn't say it was an official club line - just some people in the club.
